  1. Do the umps have any leeway to make a judgement call in that type of situation, or are they obligated to make the call as written? It's dumb, but also a slippery slope if they start making exceptions.
  2. They can't. But like you said, it's better they recognize that sooner rather than digging themselves even deeper into NBA hell. I don't know if anyone has the appetite for another 2-3+ year rebuild, but I don't see a better option.
  3. I still miss Tapatalk! People will continue to tell me why I shouldn't, but I'll keep shouting into the void.
  4. Well, if the Tigers eventually get to a point where they are fed up and looking to dump him and pay most of his salary to do so, he could come back and play a super-utility role. Probably wishful thinking, and it may not make perfect sense with the current roster construction, but I would take Javy back anytime.
  5. I'm still willing to take him back when the Tigers are ready to move on and eat most of his contract.
  6. Yeah, it definitely wasn't 119. I'm not even sold on it being 109, but at least he hit one ball hard.
  7. The Bulls need to blow it up for real. The Lonzo Ball injury was extremely bad luck and has been a huge blow to the team's competitive window, but they need to accept the reality now. I don't think trying to re-tool with the current group is going to work. They need real stars to build around, and they aren't going to get those by drafting in the middle of the first round (or not at all).
  8. Yay, Sutcliffe. Can we please get some consistency in the booth? Just get 2 guys who aren't terrible and can broadcast almost every game.
  9. Game threads have been the biggest disappointment for me. It's early in the season and the team has been playing fairly well, but game threads continue to see very little activity.
  10. His swing looks long, and sloooow.
  11. Ok, that's just hilarious.
  12. Yes, but there is plenty of time to figure that out. PCA and Alcantara are still 1-2 years away. Even if the Cubs miraculously hit on multiple outfield prospects, it won't happen right away. That's why I like this deal being limited to 3 years. It keeps all options open and doesn't lock Happ into LF for the long term if multiple better options develop over the next few years.
  13. I can't wait to trade for Kelenic and have him go Jeff Blauser on us.
  14. I have always been one who thought locking Happ up to a long term deal wasn't the best idea, but I think they found a great middle ground here. The money isn't crazy and I love only having to commit to 3 years. I may have felt differently if there was a LF option knocking on the door in Iowa, but Davis is the only one close and he is a big question mark right now.
  15. I tried watching one of the minor league broadcasts on Marquee last week and the frame rate was horrendous. I made it about 5 minutes before I gave up. It was unwatchable.
  16. Even if he's fine, it makes sense to give him the day off today before the off day and let him come back (hopefully) fully rested Friday night.
  17. I would be surprised if a guy who almost never misses a game and has 4 hits already would come out due to a cramp.
  18. Is Hosmer nursing an injury? This is the second game in a row that he has been the DH with Mancini at 1B. Isn't Hosmer the objectively better defender?
  19. I'm not seeing it now. Thanks!
