  1. Just need 1 guy on in the 9th and then let Morel swing from his heels.
  2. Watching this Cubs team seemingly short on bullpen arms every game begs the question, how did teams ever survive a season with 11-12 man pitching staffs? This is a 14 MAN staff right now and it feels like everyone is perpetually overused.
  3. I can't take all the talking from Sutcliffe. He truly NEVER shuts up. Pat doesn't even need to be there. He might as well head back over to the radio booth.
  4. Breaking news! If the Cubs hadn't made a run in July, they might have been sellers. Sutcliffe must have some real connections.
  5. I absolutely thought that view showed he was clearly safe. Stupid to run, yes, but he was safe.
  6. Oh, so now we decide to enforce the clear and convincing evidence part of the rule.
  7. Please Pat, don't encourage Sutcliffe by asking questions.
  8. Losing on home runs in Coors Field is one thing, but getting nickel and dimed with walks, singles, and weak contact is annoying.
  9. Are you telling me you don't think his cutter is as good as Rivera???
  10. Assad - Reminds Sutcliffe of Mariano Rivera.
  11. #9 hitter trying to give up an out and not a single strike thrown.
  12. Walking and hitting these bums at the bottom of the order is not a good strategy.
  13. Ottavino gets a bases loaded double play to preserve a 6-4 lead
  14. Oh, definitely not judging on one start. He has been getting by on some RISP magic a lot recently. Still getting the job done, but I don't think it is sustainable.
  15. I think this is closer to the "real" Assad. The pixie dust is bound to wear off at some point. He has done a good job as rotation depth, but I don't trust him as anything more than that
  16. Assad is not inspiring confidence early on. The Cubs are going to have to score some runs tonight.
  17. Interesting that it is Canario coming back and not Mervis to fill in at 1B.
  18. Yamamoto and Bellinger would be a good start to the off-season.
  19. For those of you keeping track, that's win number 11 for Smyly.
