  1. Boooo!!!!!!!!!!
  2. If he can win 15 in the AL East, I see no reason he can't win in the NL. It's interesting to see him and Hill pitch. Both have similar stuff, but Hill has the better fastball and Lilly (small sample I've seen) locates the curve a bit better. It'll be fun to watch these two pitch...
  3. No MLBTV? Can someone explain to me why the Cubs aren't on? I thought it was away games that are on, not home games? And please go slow and gentle, I'm a MLBTV noob. :x
  4. Very, very impressive. Love his mound presence, Works quick, and throws strikes. It's nice to see... Arroyo is pretty nasty himself. The guy always looks like he's throwing a wiffle ball up there. I was surprised we scored 4 last night.
  5. No reason not to take his sweet time, it's not like he's in a hurry to get back to the bigs or anything.
  6. I'm not sure if there is enough interest to warrant a thread Vance...
  7. I wouldn't mind that at all. I live relatively close to the site and the neighborhood down here is awesome. Lots of classic style homes and businesses. Actually that's not a bad idea. I also live pretty close to the site and the change there has been amazing the past three years...
  8. Murton looked horrible in game 1. I'm fine with the extra lefty bat in the line up today. Definitely rather see Jones hitting 2nd rather than Izturis. But, I'd also rather have Theriot in the 2 spot. Me too...
  9. I'm thinking Monday there's going to be a press conference...
  10. If Carp was on the Cubs, he would skip his next start, make the one after that, and feel pain again. Then they would do another MRI and they would realize he has to have Tommy John surgery. But since he's on the Cardinals, he'll skip his next start, make the one after that, and give up a couple hits and no runs in however many innings they let him go. Would not surprise me at all. Also, wanna bet Kip Wells wins at least 15-16 games this year?
  11. I can care less how we win it as long as we win it. If we get a little help so be it. We have been charitable in that department the past 3-4 years.
  12. What? "Major injury?" I know a tweaked elbow does not bode well (not by any stretch of the imagination), but let's not jump to such drastic conclusions here. I'm certainly not happy about the news but we really have no idea how long this is going to keep him out for. Sorry should've said it could be a major injury...I'm just used to jumping the gun everytime I hear elbow or shoulder soreness.
  13. doesn't make Prior or Wood healthy But it makes them a lot worse...Nothing wrong with that. yeah, i'm not too worried about the cardinals with or without carpenter. it's the brewers, imo. now, about ben sheets... Agreed. They scare the crap outta me right now!

  15. Don't mean too gloat but YEEEESSSSSSS!!!!! YESSSS!!!! It's about time somone other then us suffer major injuries....
  16. Cuban, Colangelo, Bill Murray..... I work at CDW and there is a rumor going around that the founder of our company Michael Krasny is looking to be the majority owner of a group to buy the Cubs. I don't know if there is any truth to this rumor. Anyony read anything about this? I heard that on the score. Aren't CDW's losing money. Most I know of are closing down... CDW doesn't have any retail stores. We have our corporate headquarter up in Vernon Hills Illinois. CDW is also the fastest growing IT company in the country, who would have guessed we are second to dell at 8 billion dollars in sales compared to dells 25 million. Wow they really got you guys loving the company over there! Glad you are able to post at work now :) I just looked at the finanicials and I had no idea CDW was that big. That really surprised me...

Carry on...

  19. I loved those uniforms. You will own that jersey (no #s or name) on 6/19, my freen. Wasn't that the uni's the Harry said looked like "Cuba"?
  20. Anyone who buys the Cubs will be A) A Cubs fan B) Someone who wants the Cubs because they are profitable No prospective owner will care whether Soriano's OBP slips. If anything, he is a benefit because he is one of the most marketable, popular players in the league and will most likely remain so for the next few years. Soriano's popularity will disappear very quickly if he can't hack it in CF and puts up an OPS slightly above .800, as he did in TX for the 2 years before 2006. Then he'll be a barely above average corner OF who's owed another $126 mil. That's not something a buyer would consider attractive. Let's get real. A bad year from Soriano isn't going to deter people from buying the Cubs. Of course not, but it would put a big dent in the sale price of the club. Current projections of the Cubs' price don't include a player who looks like a $126M bust. Not really. You're talking about 17 million a year. What is a billionaire going to say okay instead of buying the cubs for 600 million you better minus Sori contract? Soriano is not going to be a bust, so it's really a moot point. He's hit his whole career and is in great shape. He's not going to all of a sudden lose it.
  21. Yeah, after looking at those batter/pitcher matchups I'm not too enthusiastic either. Let's hope they can drive up Arroyo's pitch count and get him out early. With temps around mid 30's it should be low scoring...
  22. I hope I'm wrong, but I have a bad feeling about tomorrow game.
