  1. I'm really enjoying this Grizzlies team. Tony Allen is making more of an impact than anyone expected. Totally changed the mindset of the team. Plus dude is [expletive] crazy.
  2. The OF will give us at least league average production this year and will almost certainly be above league average. Not bad for only 37 million.
  3. Brett Jackson didn't make it? I'd suspect he was somewhere around 50ish or so. He had him at 101.
  4. Just looked over his top 100 list. Only one Cub made the list. McNutt at 66.
  5. I think this means Fukudome is more than likely gone now. A Colvin/Johnson platoon wouldn't be the worst thing in the world I guess. Stll rather have Fuku playing every day though.
  6. It's almost hard to fathom someone that bad getting 231 plate appearances.
  7. If I recall he was big on having the Cubs making it a 6 inning game and going Cashner, Wood, Marmol to close games out.
  8. .... let me guess, you are pissed because you think we gave up a lot? Without knowing what the Cubs got in return (besides Garza), they did give up a lot. I'm not seeing it. Isn't Garza what we hoped Archer would become? And Lee, I don't buy that he was going to ever be anything more than a light hitting, fast, good defensive SS. The other two, who cares? Who cares about Guyer? Yes.

  10. No names have been exchanged? It's been a month of "so if we were to trade Garza, what would you be willing to give up?" "Well before I answer that, let me ask you this. Say we want Graza, what would it take?"
  11. I'm thinking Prior isn't too terribly picky about which team he pitches for at this point.
  12. The Rays are likely to have have 8 of the first 100 picks in next year's draft. I think their management knows what it's doing.
  13. Crasnick is reporting that there's some buzz at the meetings that the Orioles are close to signing Derrek Lee. This is getting a little weird.
  14. Would Padilla take a 1 year deal? Wasn't he pretty good last year when he actually pitched?
  15. Adonis Thomas to announce today at 4:00. It's between Memphis, UCLA, and Tennessee. Everyone is thinking Memphis which would be huge but rumors are that Calipari made a strong late push. This would be really big for Memphis.
  16. Anyone reading the Levine chat on ESPN right now? May be the worst thing I've ever read. Says Maddux could've been the manager if he wanted the job.
  17. That's all he got!? (There's a reason Washington dropped him like a bad habit.) Damn, Calipari is getting careless. The Cal I know and love would've "handled" this before it got out.
  18. The refs handed the game to Boise. Awful officiating down the stretch.
  19. Not with Dasher out.
  20. Obviously depending on contract, but what would be wrong with that? Especially a 1 year deal which still leaves us a chance to get Gonz/Fielder Why would Konerko sign a one-year-deal after the year he's having? Right. Kind of my point as well. Weird fear to have for us to sign Konerko for 1 year to play first. If anything, it should be the White Sox fear that the season hes having would sucker them into giving him a 4 year extension. As for Dunn, does anyone else agree that if we were to sign Dunn, and Ramirez stays, wed probably be 1 solid starting pitcher and a few respectable relievers(preferably not at Hendry-esqu contracts) away from contention? Dewitt Castro Ramirez Dunn Soto Soriano Byrd Colvin P Looks like a hell of a lineup to me. It would look a lot better with Fukudome in there instead of Colvin.
  21. You're thinking of Dana Kirk.Dana Kirk was a good man. Once you get past the tax evasion, lying, and gambling problems.
  22. I don't get it? Is Pastner now going to be considered a cheater just because he followed Calipari at Memphis? Yes. Yes. I hope you're right.
  23. I don't get it? Is Pastner now going to be considered a cheater just because he followed Calipari at Memphis? Is it just assumed that since the Fed Ex HQ is in Memphis that they're paying U of M basketball players?
  24. I'll admit that it's amazing what Pastner has been able to do. Is WWW still friendly with the program? No, he was strictly a benefit that came with Calipari. I don't think any of our three big recruits have any ties with WWW.
  25. Ruling Barton ineligible was BS from the get go. At least the NCAA smartened up and reversed their ruling. And by the way Memphis is loaded next season. So much for the program crumbling when Cal bolted, as many predicted.
