  1. People are making millions of dollars off their talents and hard work, while they have to go through the motions of going to class and get nothing for it in high school and college. It's only natural for players like them to start looking for ways to skirt the rules. Camby and Rose will have played college basketball somewhere. All Calipari said is "hey, you can come play for me." It's silly to scapegoat Calipari for not hiding the less savory parts of college basketball when everybody knows they exist and are profiting off it as well. haha, the old "someone would have taken them" argument. yes, but only a cheater would have been willing to cheat to get them in, and he's done this twice at two different schools. the ncaa may choose to punish the schools and not calipari, but that only puts kentucky at risk of facing the death penalty again. some people are willing to ignore the rules and say "win at any cost", some people have no scruples about how they compete. i think everyone knows what calipari is and what he does, i'm not going to blame him for being scum, but i will blame university of kentucky for employing such a cheater who will undoubtedly destroy their program someday. it's not a matter of if he screws up, it's a matter of when and uk is playing with fire. Calipari was at Memphis for 8 years and the only thing that ever came up was the Rose situation. Rose is not the only highschool player to have someone take a test for him. I don't remember much about the Camby situation except he was caught taking money from an agent. Sure Calipari was the coach when both instances went down, (Rose still denies someone took his test by the way) but Calipari himself has not been implicated in either violation.
  2. The beautiful thing is he still can't win it all. Bend every rule you can Cal, you still can't get it done. Oh and you still have pee on your shoe from when Bill Self pimp smacked you down the stretch of the '08 game. And it really hurts me to have to even like that a bit. CDR and Rose missed 3 of 4 free throws in the last minute of the game. Self didn't pimp slap anyone.
  3. Sure there was. He's demonstrated a number of excellent, patient AB's already in his short career. I'm not trashing the guy as a player; it was just a very, very bad AB. I know you're not trashing the player but he hasn't had an at bat close to that magnitude.
  4. We don't have anybody who has a clue about fundamental baseball. We got a bunch of hackers, not enough hitters. Tough to blame Castro for being over anxious but the Ramirez and Sota at bats were horrible. I've got plenty of blame for Castro. Contreras wasn't pitching well at all and he went up there hacking at every pitch. Ah well, close game. The Cubs played the best team in the NL down to the wire and split the mini-series. Get on the plane and start another winning streak tomorrow. He's 20. There was no way he wasn't going up there hacking.

  6. Lou should pinch hit Baker for Fontenot and then put Ramirez in at 3rd next inning.
  7. Does Contrares realize any breaking ball gets him out?
  8. I think it's time Kosuke starts playing against left handers.
  9. Geo forgot how to hit himself. 4 for his last 28. Still, a better option than Nady especially considering Geo is going to come in the game anyway since you pinch hit for the other catcher. He's forgotten how to hit for the time being but he sure as [expletive] still knows how to walk. Dude, it's called hitting, not walking. Damnit, somebody tell Dusty to stop possessing me. You can't walk across the plate.
  10. He does have his share of puzzling moves, but I don't think you get the 14th most wins in MLB history by being a complete tool. You get them by longevity
  11. On what universe is Nady a better option here than Geo?
