  1. He would have tried to suck the stitching off the ball?
  2. If Molina had gotten a hit there, would that make LaRussa smarter than us?
  3. I guess batting Molina fifth is about to come up in a big way.
  4. If only we could have retained Juan Pierre...
  5. Eckstein hustled that ball all the way into left field. Beltran just freaking gunned Eckstein.
  6. The only '100' LaRussa is thinking about is which 100 proof alcohol he's going to drink after the game. Probably whatever is under the passenger seat.
  7. They reached in and plucked it out of his glove. Damned lights..... ya gotta watch 'em like a hawk !! I tried that once. Everything looked quite odd after I finally took my eyes off em.
  8. I'm glad to see that your fantasy team is more important than loyalty. How do you sleep at night? Actually I'm just holding on to Pujols for a while to make the cardinals fans easier to pillage in a trade. But I'm not about to root for him when it might make a difference in the game if he were to do well.
  9. Somebody should make a list of all the people Morgan says are the best or most exciting at something, and show him all the times he contradicts himself at the end of the season. "Jose Reyes is the most exciting player in the game." "Carl Crawford is the most exciting player in the game." "Barry Bonds is the most exciting player in the game."
  10. With the lead the Mets have, it's time for Pujols to break out for the sake of my fantasy team.
  11. Wow, I didn't know Encarnacion was such a vital piece of the offense. I'm so happy these guys are here to straighten me out.
  12. Are you kidding me? Have you seen Molina's splits? vs. RHP - .217/.264/.328/.592 vs. LHP - .213/.296/.307/.603
  13. I can't... I feel that I'd jinx it.
  14. I've got a presentation to give later at night, so I have to avoid getting drunk. Thankfully, I can still watch the game though.
  15. http://www.thebaseballcube.com/players/C/Rocky-Cherry.shtml I don't know what to make of him, personally. He's gonna be 28 in August, and he's only got 2.2 innings above AA. He also missed almost all of 2005. On the other hand, his numbers have looked pretty darn good, save for an embarrassing 2004 season with juiced hit and homerun rates, which he seems to have fixed since he came back. I'd like to see what he could do with a roster spot. Unfortunately, we have so many relievers I feel Wayne Krivsky's wet dream right now.
  16. Ned Colletti : General Manager :: Dusty Baker : Manager Ah, to ponder what we could have gotten for Maddux had Hendry demanded prospects instead of Izturis. Probably not much seeing as he was not at all an "A+" pitcher, and it was only for the later half of the season. You never know; Colletti isn't a genius... I don't know... how many teams do you know that are actually in position to get better when players go down to injury?
  17. Why? Cheaper and much higher upside? It's not going to be cheaper unless we trade Ward. Durazo probably has a higher offensive ceiling, but his skillset ages quickly, he was beyond awful last season, and he can't do anything with the glove at all anywhere. He didn't play at the major league level last season, IIRC. Recovering from an injury. Ward's mobility hasn't impressed me much either... and his bat is looking putrid to this point. I'd honest rather pinch hit Cedeno in a crucial situation, and I think that's enough of an indictment of his abilities. Durazo has at least shown a sustained ability to hit at the major league level. If we're going to be attempting to catch lightning in a bottle with a bench player, I'd rather do it with the one that has a better chance.
  18. ñ=alt+0241 (on the number pad, doesn't work at the top of the keyboard) alt+164 works for me ñ ñ (0241) works too ;) Ĉħăŗąčŧęŕ Māp ƒţŵ
  19. Why? Cheaper and much higher upside?
  20. Erubiel Durazo just got released due to the Walker signing. I wouldn't mind him instead of Ward.
  21. Yeah. He and CPatt are the crown jewels of our homegrown position players.
