Getting DeRosa would make Jason Donald expendable to Philly, and I'd think he'd be heading to SD in place of Ronny Cedeno. Nothing really to back that up, but moving DeRosa just might keep Ronny Cedeno around.
Since when have I claimed not to be on a power trip? Also, now that I've looked through the board, what's up with the receding hairline joke? Are you stalking me or something? That's kinda creepy, dude. My money is on a spreadsheet keeping tabs on everybody.
Am I blocked? you're not one of the ~70 or so that aren't. which means i just havent found anything youve said that hurts my brain so much to block you....yet. do you have yourself on foe? I have to be blocked. If you are, it's certainly nobody's fault but your own.
It's an understandable mistake on Tim's part. I'm kinda like your evil twin. Many would say "evil-er" twin in this case, I think. Damn it. I haven't insulted people enough lately. It'll be ok, little buddy. I'll teach you how to be condescending and get away with it. Don't you worry.
Do we have two Marshalls? :P You forgot about the little known Steve Marshall, a PTBL in the Neifi Perez trade. I thought all we got from that trade was Chris Robinson... and not having Neifi anymore.
Then you and I are on the same-ish page. I was thinking 5 to 15 runs. Dangit! Quit talking about that here! :D If you'd give my fanclub its own forum, we wouldn't have this issue. I always read the post before looking to see who posted it (and I don't have any images turned on)... I thought for sure this was a post from meph. No offense to either of you, of course. :D Meph's fanclub already has its own part of the forum, and nobody ever posts there.
Vitters, Marshall, and Ronny are almost certainly involved in any trade. Looking at the farms systems for the other potential teams, Wellington Castillo is probably gone too.
It wouldn't shock me to see Hendry pull a disappointing prospect out of another club. Don't expect any major league pieces or minor league blue-chippers, though.
The announcement isn't that a deal is done, or that anything is really agreed to. All he's saying is "if you can get me players A, B, C, D, and E, then Peavy is all yours."

Fine, it's mostly irrelevant. On the order of a handful of runs per season. or, in reality, on the order of a handful of wins per season. If you're comparing min and max lineups, sure. But the typical lineups of today aren't that far removed from the ideal. Nobody is batting the pitcher first.
Angel Guzman could easily be the player whose injury history Jim Hendry was upfront about. I dont know about moving DeRosa. The main focus of the off season was supposed to be offense. Pitching wasnt even really on the radar until Paevy entered the picture. If we do end up moving DeRosa in such a deal, I hope theres a real possibility that we can get someone like Bradley or Abreu as well. I don't have a problem with moving DeRosa. His value is at an all-time high, and we have a very similar player making the league minimum available... one who also fits management's obsession with left handed hitting. If DeRosa is the piece that puts the deal over the top, you pull the trigger without hesitation. Soriano Fontenot Lee Ramirez Bradley Soto Fukudome Theriot Peavy / Zambrano / Harden / Dempster / Lilly I'm ok with that.
