  1. It's easy to park and ride, the buses leave every 10 minutes or so from the parking lot. It's about a 10-15 minute ride to Wrigley and it drops you off just down from the front entrance. Like Roast said, expect to be packed into the return shuttle and you'll probably have to wait in line to board. I've seen the line stretch about a block for sold-out games. They only run for a set amount of time after the game -- you'd have to check what the cut-off is. I've used it a few times for weeknight games.
  2. Did they really think that it wouldn't? People were calling the Score from the bleachers.
  3. I like Brenly. As a broadcaster.
  4. GALLAGHER! :D
  5. XM radio reporting the Reds DFA'd Scott Hatteberg.
  6. He's hit batters 3 times to start an inning, and walked 1 batter to start an inning. He has 5 hit by pitches and 5 walks overall. 2 of the 5 walks have been of the intentional variety. He has had a problem with hitting people, but he's been simply great with not walking them. 3 unintentional walks in 25 2/3 innings is actually pretty unbelievable for any pitcher, and simply astounding for a guy like Wood. How many of the hit batters bat lefty?
  7. Chicago Cubs fans are 90% scar tissue -- George Will
  8. I was passing through the kitchen and heard that call and hoped it was a bizarrely timed replay of the Brant Brown call ...
  9. That must be some low rent neighborhood you live in, eh? I'm sure it could *always* be lower-rent, Fred! ;)
  10. So Fukudome can adjust to his new batting order slot?
  11. I remember that 2003 line, it was so so ugly, but 2003 was my first visit to PNC, which immediately ranked at the top of my ballpark list. Thanks, Omar, as always for the for vs against hitting charts!
  12. From the recap of Sean Marshall's start: Omaha Bottom 4th * Angel Berroa singles on a line drive to left fielder Matt Murton. * Damon Hollins flies out to left fielder Matt Murton. * Damaso Espino grounds out, pitcher Sean Marshall to first baseman Jason Dubois. Angel Berroa to 2nd. * Dave Matranga singles on a ground ball to left fielder Matt Murton. Angel Berroa scores. * Injury Delay. * Pitcher Change: Mike Burns replaces Sean Marshall. * Mitch Maier flies out to left fielder Matt Murton. 3.2 IPs, 61 pitches, I don't see any info on what type of injury it was.
  13. I'll spot start this one. Our guy http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/images/players/action/ph_407296.jpg Carlos Alberto Zambrano 6-1, 10 GS, 66 IPs, 46Ks/19BBs, 2.45 ERA / 180 ERA+, 1.197 WHIP vs Their guy http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/images/players/action/ph_435043.jpg Zachary Thomas Duke 2-2, 9 GS, 55.3 IPs, 20Ks/19BBs, 4.23 ERA / 98 ERA+, 1.590 WHIP Go Cubs!
  14. And now Joba is 'officially' transitioning to the rotation.
  15. Everything that Lou has said leading up to last night would indicate so.
  16. Ha, nice! I hope Chris Berman doesn't stumble across that mumbo-jumbo about OPS; his brain might explode.
  17. He raised the bar with the inside-the-parker. We need to see some gymnastic moves next.
  18. Interesting Nightengale article on what's ailing the Tigers, with the requisite thoughts on team chemistry.
