    It would be a shame to enjoy these two weeks too much. I for one am glad Maddux stepped it up at the beginning of the season.

    If you're saying he's lucky, I wish I were as lucky as he's been over the past 20 years. :D Well, he's given up a few near-bombs in his other starts, as well, but his stuff is just so dominating right now and his control is sharp where it's not a huge deal if he gives up a HR or two. He's really limiting baserunners. I won't mind solo shots from Maddux. I'm really enjoying this '06 version of Maddux. The team needs him and Z to come through in these early games. Hopefully those other guys will get back soon.

    That's who I was thinking of! So first Buehrle accuses Maddux of cheating and then he steals his belly-flop move? Ridiculous! Maddux and the rest of the tarp runners were also fined at the time, IIRC.

    I like soccer10K's version better. :D Some discrepencies may be due to people who edited their selections after initially posting them. If anyone went through and tallied who selected which hitters before the thread was locked, people may have changed their choices before the deadline.

    What's the deal with Bynum? Does he have to clear waivers if he's sent down? He's going to have to make 2x a good impression to make up for the play tonight. I can excuse errors and rookie mistakes, but what was up with him jogging after that ball? Theriot is on the 40-man. Hairston isn't my ideal RF platoon partner -- especially if it would mean a Neifi/Walker platoon at 2B -- but they could go with calling up Theriot on that basis.

    If he'll play, bring him up. If he'll sit, then don't. From the link above ... it didn't look good for Pagan, and it doesn't sound very promising either.

    Quad City goes up 2-1 on a 2 run HR by Randy Roth. No-decision for Mitch Atkins, but nice line: 5IPs, 4H, 0R, 0ER, 6/1 He benefited from a Colby Rasmus caught stealing in the 1st inning followed by a single and double. Roberto Sotolongo now pitching. The first two he faced reached (including the HR), but he's retired the next two.
