  1. I think he thought he was Edmonds for a second. So many jokes, so little time.
  2. Maybe Barrett needs to threaten to slap him.
  3. Yes, ChiefsVoice = Nathan Baliva, the broadcaster and Media Manager for the Chiefs.
  4. Bellhorn and Sosa colliding Farnsworth kicking a baseball during batting practice and hurting his toe Alf sliding on wet grass and straining some muscle (though most felt that was a beneficial turn of events). Then he returns and belly-bumps an ump and gets suspended. Corey blowing out his ACL running over the 1B bag (was Sosa still out then?) ETA: then Tom Goodwin playing CF and getting hurt (stealing a base?) the same day the Aramis - Kenny Lofton trade happened.
  5. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
  6. The Cub Reporter says that the 60-day DL stint in this case dates back to when the player was originally placed on the 15-day DL (or time spent on the 15-day-DL counts toward the 60), which makes sense since the Cubs press release notes that Miller was put on the 15-day DL on April 1. That would make Miller eligible to return May 31.

  8. Look -- I don't know how far back this got started, but *everyone* who wants to argue about who is a "real fan" or what a "real fan" does or does not do is strongly advised to take it to rants and to drop any namecalling.
  9. How about off-target throws from Aramis? He might not be as willing to forgive those. :P
  10. I think Opening Day. I thought they can go X number of days back into spring training. I think it can be backed into spring training, too. IIRC, Prior opened '05 on the DL but pitched the second week of the season (Opening Day was April 4 and he pitched vs San Diego on the 13th, I believe).
  11. Z might overlook a couple of off-target Cedeno throws for the sake of TEAM VENEZUELA.
  12. You might want to check out the Will Carroll thread on this page and click the link to BP to get his opinion on it. I don't know. :? A lot of people blamed Nomar's wrist injury for his subsequent struggles ... but it seems to me that his trouble staying injury-free was more to blame.
  13. Now that he's a Cub for a long time, he's got to learn not to tempt fate like that.
  14. You can feel free to make it about Cabrera, since you were arguing that in discussions.
  15. It deals with a proposed transaction, so it would be best if the Cabrera conversation shifted to one of the threads in Transactions. Thanks.
  16. We won't know until later on. The Cubs.com 40-man now lists 41, including Restovich.
  17. BTW, Murph said that Stone would be on the Score again at the top of the hour. I won't be here to listen then. :(
  18. Thanks. I forgot the order of their shows, but when he mentioned Pie, I figured it was him. :)
  19. There was some talk about whether having Walker bat 2nd was a luxury that the Cubs might not be able to afford with Lee out. If Walker moves to 1B, Hairston might be the better #2 choice. Miles noted that Neifi is best used as a defensive replacement and is not a #2 hitter.
  20. Miles said that he personally has a circle around Murton's name for the #3 spot, though that doesn't mean Dusty has the same thought. Murton works the count, is patient, doesn't seem to get stressed easily. Response from Murphy (or is it Mulligan?): Matt the Bat, Murton for Certain!
  21. Somehow I don't think Stoney saying a few nice things are gonna have him and Wood going out for beers after games or anything though.... :P He also said something along the lines of "nobody with the Cubs organization is going to admit that his mechanics have been changed, but they definitely have been." So it doesn't sound like time has completely healed the wounds yet (though he did obviously have good things to say about Wood).
