  1. Dusty has +10 charisma in person. I can see why people/players rave about him.
  2. And Dempster's scoreless streak ends at 31.1. But the save streak lives on!
  3. So did you laugh loudly in the Ozzie Smith suite during every swinging strike? :D
  4. For anyone who didn't see it, there's an article in the Trib about Maddux's conditioning program this past off-season.
  5. Matchups don't always go as planned. That said, I wouldn't mind seeing Z have a cakewalk tomorrow -- he's due for one. He still needs to pick up his first win, and he's probably not happy about that. If there's tweaking with the rotation, I'd rather see it done to line it up for divisional rivals.
  6. 4-2 sounds so much nicer than 3-3. :D
  7. He was moved to the 60-day DL to make room for Restovich and he can't be activated for MLB duty until June 1.
  8. If Dr. Cub is looking after him, all is well.
  9. You don't go, so you wouldn't know. Biggest myth about Wrigley and Cub fans, btw. As if other fans don't go to games to drink and watch girls... That would be a crime against baseball!
  10. You don't go, so you wouldn't know.
  11. Hopefully you feel better than that.
  12. I plead guilty! I thought you'd be there tomorrow, too (so I actually was RESERVING your start). O:)
  13. A couple behind me drove over 6 hours from someplace in Ohio to get a few bricks. The line was amazing. Yes ... it was a little unsettling to see a few people carting off armloads of stuff, some of which at least I assume will be resold. Especially after talking to people who were so pleased to have the opportunity just to buy a brick. :D I wasn't planning on buying anything other than a couple of bricks ... which is a good thing, because I wouldn't have ended up with anything, anyway.
  14. I saw a couple of guys walk out holding stacks of stadium flags that they had bought.
  15. If you wanted to order more than 50, they asked you to fill out a form -- and pay, of course -- then pick up your bricks on May 8 from 10-8pm. ETA: so I'd guesstimate at least a few thousand bricks will be sold.
  16. An MLB authentication sticker? Is it one of the stickers you look up on MLB.com? Yes, but the code is BB (same as the stamp put on your hand if you leave the bleachers to go to another part of the park during a game) and they don't have that code up yet at mlb.
  17. Bricks were $25 Bleacher planks (one seat's worth) were $50 Bleacher brackets were $10
  18. There will be stuff going up on EBay all day long. Some of the team flags from Wrigley are already on there.
  19. I hope he was enjoying the Ozzie Smith Suite! :D
  20. why? why on earth does jones still get to bat in front of murton? Len said it was tentative and I'm hoping I got his tentative lineup right (I was listening while driving and talking on the speakerphone). The top of the lineup is definite - there was much talk about Walker batting 3rd. Levine thought it was a huge mistake, since Walker 1) has done so well as #2 and 2) has never been a run producer before. Levine wanted Murton 3rd. Kasper thought Dusty was hesitant to put Murton #3 because it would be a lot of pressure for his first full season (though Murton batted cleanup once already, didn't he?). I would think that Dusty would put Murton between Mabry & Jones to have the L-R-L setup.
  21. I posted this in the game thread, but Len Kasper was on Talkin Baseball this morning and said that Mabry would be playing 1B today - Walker 2B - Blanco - C. The tentative lineup is in the game thread.
  22. Well, Len Kasper was on Talkin' Baseball earlier this morning. He didn't have the lineup in front of him, but said this is how it looked from memory Pierre CF Cedeno SS Walker 2B Aramis 3B Mabry 1B (I *think* he was 5th, he was definitely in at 1B) Jones RF (may be switched with Mabry) Murton LF Blanco C Rusch P
  23. I'm going to move this to Transactions, though, since it's mainly about the prospects for a trade.
