  1. Bush is going into his 4th year, so he'll likely be a free agent next year.
  2. hopefully it's not "you get what you pay for" This is probably going to work out wonderfully for the Bears. This is a chance for Clinton-Dix to impress this season to be in a position to get a more player friendly contract next year. Clinton-Dix likely won't stop the Bears from drafting a safety in the draft, and with Clinton-Dix, they won't have to plug and play with the rookie.
  3. With Eric Berry missing most of the past 2 years, there is talk that he may have to settle for a prove it deal. Might be worth exploring if you can get him for one year on the cheap. Probably still drafting a S with one of the first two picks if you go that route. Clinton-Dix would certainly be a safer bet.
  4. With the 49ers signing Tevin Coleman, there is discussion that Jerrick McKinnon could be cut. He might be a nice complement to Cohen and Davis, assuming McKinnon will be fully healthy.
  5. Cody "Clank" Parkey has officially been bounced to the curb.
  6. That makes me sad. I would have loved to see Anthony Barr go to the Jets and as far away from Minnesota as possible.
  7. Le'Veon Bell wasn't happy with the 3 year 45m offer Pittsburgh tried to give him last year. I think most of that was guaranteed. And then he sat out a whole year and didn't get paid at all. So how much will he be expecting someone to give him this year? With all of this cap space clearing going on, it's looking like the Bears are going to try to sign Bell. I don't think we are going to like that contract one bit. And I've heard rumors that he was up to 260 lbs recently because he was sitting on the couch like a slug.
  8. Tickets to the San Diego Fleet game this weekend are $30 regardless of where you want to sit. It's supposed to rain for their first home game, but even still, I'd venture to guess that the crowd for the game on Sunday will be comparable or even bigger than a Charger game this year. And that's coming off a loss in week 1 where they didn't score a single td. Pretty sure San Diegans will be wanting to give Spanos a big FU!
  9. The Los Angeles tv market was lower for the SB than the rest of the country.
  10. My favorite part of that Super Bowl is that the Chik-Fil-A in the Falcons stadium was closed on Super Bowl Sunday just like every other Sunday.
  11. I think it’s the former, actually. They’ve freed up some money and Preller, while bat [expletive] nuts, is aggressive by nature. I can see where SD is an attractive destination for a premier FA, especially a West Coaster like Harper. Pleasant if bland city, great climate, gorgeous ballpark. Maybe you just forgot that the owner of the Padres doesn't spend money?
  12. Massie has been locked up through 2022.
  13. yes I guess I will be saving money by not going to that game if the Raiders do choose to play in San Diego next year. It might be fun going to a Raiders/Chargers game with the Chargers being the visitors.
  14. Is this London game confirmed?
  15. Theo is being honest as well. He wants Ricketts to bring back some of the millions of the billions in cash in his off shore bank accounts to make his team better, and Ricketts doesn't want to do it. If Theo had access to that money himself, it would already be done.
  16. The reports I’ve seen blame Elway, not Fangio Doesn't matter who is to blame. Fangio isn't getting his man, so it's not the ideal start for Fangio.
  17. Really cheering for the Raiders to choose San Diego to play their games next year since the Bears play the Raiders on the road. To me, there is no other option, so why it's not already a signed deal is beyond me.
  18. You should be invited to be on the Today show for actually performing well at your job, not sucking at your job. But hey, get the kid a participation trophy!
  19. Cutler was a victim in William's Bountygate. I'm shocked Williams ever got an NFL job after that, and I'd be pretty disappointed if the Bears gave him a job.
  20. Oh hell no!
  21. I'm guessing Fangio takes most if not all of the defensive coaching staff with him. He'll probably be hard after guys like Amos and Callahan if the Bears blink. The good news is that the Bears defensive unit in general will be in tact and it makes for a potential lucrative landing spot for a successful veteran DC. Nagy also seems like a guy a DC can get along with, as he gave Fangio all the liberties he needed. He certainly deserves a HC gig after everything he has accomplished so far. Denver media is about to get extremely frustrated with post game interviews, so there is that.
  22. It's Nagy thinking he's duping the secondary into leaning back thinking pass play and then Trubisky hands the ball to Mizzell for no gain. It doesn't work. Place that play in the trash can and pick a new one!
  23. You could, but I'm guessing timing is pretty important on field goals. Trying to dupe the defense by snapping early seems like a good way to decrease your chances of making the field goal.
  24. I've always maintained that there should be a rule against calling time outs at the very last second to ice the kicker. Like in the instance where it happened last night, if the ball is snapped and kicked, you waited too long. The kicker could just as easily miss the first one and make the second one, so this isn't me being a homer. It's just a stupid practice to call it so late that the play actually happens and then you have to line up and do it all over again. If you want to ice the kicker, call the time out well before the play happens. That might seem weird, but I find it weird that kickers are subjected to two attempts because the defense has a time out at their disposal. You can still ice the kicker by calling time out at about the time the holder is about to get into position. At the point he hasn't raised his hands to accept the hike, you can call your time out up to that point. If you wait until after that, the kick either counts if it goes in, or the offense gets a 5 yard bonus for the penalty to re-kick. To me the time out before a kick is just one of the dumbest rituals that they allow defenses to get away with.
  25. Too bad there weren't any high school or college or pro football goal posts anywhere to be found to get some real practice in.
