What a relief. I need football in my life right now. Quarantine those bastards!

Yeah, I'm the commissioner of our money fantasy league, and I'm having to text everyone each time there is a change. Ugh. I did create an extra IR spot so that Covid players can be placed there if their teams play anyway. We also changed our entry fee to only $50 instead of $150 knowing this season would have issues. Seems like they need to quarantine these teams if there is an chance of having a full season. It only takes one idiot. Luckily there are bye weeks now. Not sure what they will do once a team gets covid and their bye week has already been used. how's abuck's team doing Haha. Yeah, never again with that guy. Never again. But thanks for reminding me how fun that was. #-o

Or maybe they feel that Trubisky is so gone at this point, Bray would be a better backup option to Trubisky. I can't imagine that either, because people would lose their minds if they brought Bray in instead of Trubisky if Foles had to come out for some reason. It is trade season, so maybe they are shopping for anyone everyone knowing that Trubisky's only real chance is to get a fresh start somewhere else. Bray will likely just be an inactive each Sunday.

Cam Newton has tested postive for Covid. He's out for this Sunday.

Saw a rumor of the Bears sniffing around Darnold. Trading Darnold before the trade deadline helps the Jets tank for Lawrence. They could do that easier with Trubisky, who is a free agent at the end of the year. Bears could be in a position to see Foles opt out of his deal, leaving them with no one and not any real solid prospects in the draft to start day 1 and little money to spend in free agency. Reality is Foles is back for one more year at 8m in 2021 and Darnold could actually do some learning behind Foles. Darnold has at least one more year after this year and possibly two if they pick up his 5th year option. Not saying it's ideal, but if Foles gets hurt, we have Trubisky with shattered confidence on top of all of his other inadequacies. Darnold playing for a team that doesn't entirely suck while also getting a change of scenery seems interesting. I don't watch the Jets enough to know if Darnold is a legit NFL starter, however.

I read that Artavis Pierce has similar speed and ability to cut like Cohen and would be an option to replace on the roster from the practice squad. Don't know how much of that is true. They did seem to like his abilities in training camp.

I find it a bit ludicrous to bag on Foles' abilities in this game. He came into a game with a team he had zero previous history of game time action with. He came into a game with a huge deficit to overcome. He came into a game where there was quite likely a bit of adversity in pulling a QB out of a game that had yet to lose a game this year and already had one 4th quarter comeback on his resume for the year. And yet, he threw 5 TD passes in less than a full half of play. The TD to ARob was perfectly thrown. And I'll never stop arguing that that play should have been a touchdown. ARob had control of the ball in flight and he maintained that possession to the ground. The opponent never had possession and only stripped it away after they were on the ground. ARob had possession and had all kinds of body parts on the ground to rule it a catch. Now, I'm not calling Foles the next coming of Brees here. But, he clearly is an NFL QB who can make solid throws and read defenses. He put twice as many points on the board against the same defense as Trubisky and in less time than Trubisky while also having 2 more scores taken off the board. Foles would have had some amazing numbers if some of his earlier throws were actually caught. Graham dropped an easy one. Miller dropped a perfect throw in the endzone. ARob got his ball stripped away from him. If I had to guess, some of these receivers had a tough time with those balls because they aren't used to seeing a perfectly thrown spiral his them in the hands. Sure, he got lucky on a couple of throws, also, but I've seen the best QB's in the league get lucky on some throws occasionally. They also get picked off once in awhile. Foles is going to have trouble in the pocket with this line occasionally. But, I think he's already got DB's and LB's backing up a bit more since he had already shown he can connect on passes beyond 10 yards. That's what this offense needed. Credit to the Bears coaching staff for making the move and credit to Foles for turning what appeared to be a loss yesterday into a win. Wonder if they will look to the rookie Pierce to replace Cohen.

2 QB start league? Did you start Josh Allen and Dak or something? Maybe Aaron Jones and/or Kamara too? 1pt/yard Nope. Typical 1 for each 10, but being PPR, you do get a point for each carry after 5 for RB's and every catch for a receiver. There are kickers for 100 yards rushing/receiving and such, also. There isn't anything goofy in there. This is the 15th year for this league among the same bar patrons for Sunday football.

I had Josh Allen, Aaron Jones, Alvin Kamara, Darren Waller, David Montgomery at Flex and Chicago Bears D. 200 is a normal good score in this league. Only 5 of the 12 teams got to 200 this past week. So 300+ is extremely rare. It's a rarity for me to have a Packer on my roster, but Jones still sitting there in the 2nd round was a no brainer.

This is a brag rather than a complaint, but... I scored 316 points in our PPR league this past week (season high and a very rare 300 point week) in our 12 team league with the typical 9 player roster. The reason I'm bragging is because I got a total of 5 points from my receivers.

I wonder if they will let Riley Ridley suit up this week against his brother's team. Could maybe use another receiver to spell the other guys with these 9 TD's we are supposedly going to score against the Atl D.

Playcalling has been near excellent so far, IMO. There's some weird short yardage stuff, but that's been about it. The rest of the plays have been designed perfectly to give Mitch easy reads, isolate good matchups, and they have moved the ball pretty well for the most part. Patterson has been getting the ball like a normal RB (especially in Week 1). Cohen up the middle is actually preferred. He himself believes he's more effective up the middle. Become very predictable if you only run Cohen outside or throw him the ball when he's on the field. Agree with the TEs. They were very involved week 1. Graham had a lot of targets. Kmet had at least 1 that I remember. Should've had a TD from Harris, but a bad Mitch throw. They were targeted again Week 2, but only 2 total catches. Pace is almost the same as the TE group's production last season after 2 games. According to the box score, there were 3 TE targets on Sunday. Although, I believe there was a 4th to Graham that ended up being a penalty and nullified the play.

I'm not as comfortable with Mitch as you are. But, I still don't like a lot of the play calling. Those two designed Trubisky running plays were WTF moments. The really slow developing gadget plays with Patterson don't work very well. He's powerful and fast enough to burst through a hole. Just run him like a normal RB out of the backfield. Cohen up the middle is just dumb. They need to utilize the TE's better, and at the first down marker rather than quick pitches or dump offs. Challenge the opposing team's ILB's. Graham and Kmet can get open. That also opens up the middle for a dump pass to Cohen. That's where Cohen can shine, sneaking behind the DLine like Kamara does. Maybe it's the playcalling that frustrates me the most.

Blitzing with success certainly beefs up your tackles for loss and sack rates. Maybe I just liked Fangio's scheme better as it did seem to disrupt the opposing QB's rhythm and creating more turnovers. Detroit definitely has an explosive offense, even if they were playing without Golladay. Giants lost Barkley and Sheppard, which was a huge blow to their chances, and they still managed to stay in the game. I'm curious where the Lions and Giants OLine's rank among all teams. I was shocked as hell that Montgomery cam back in that game after the way he landed. I assumed either a concussion or a neck/back injury. Without Montgomery, there is no run game with this team.

Something changed this defense when it went from Fangio to Pagano. It's just not the same. And it's not for the better. How many snaps did Quinn play yesterday? Point being, if he's near 100% and playing nearly ever down, then what we saw out of the defense was the best we can hope for this season? Not good enough. And that's disappointing considering we have Hicks, Mack, Quinn, Smith, Fuller and Jackson as stud defensive players. It's kinda bizarre to see most of the league games in shootouts to see who can get to 40 points first, and then Bears games are battles to see who can get to 20 first. They just aren't playing the same kind of football as the rest of the league where you make due with your defense, but load up on big scoring plays every week. I love defense. But there are arguably 6 guys alone that are near the top of league at their position and they aren't getting sacks at a high enough pace. They did create 2/3 turnovers, but Jones had plenty of time to throw.

Just caught up with all the in game play discussion, and UMFan posted the exact same thing I was thinking. Are we really going to sit on this lead the entire second half? That is not the Andy Reid school of football thinking. Andy Reid likes to run up the score. He likes to go deep with big leads. He loves to go deep on first down. He likes keeping his defense off the field by being aggressive with his play calling. I have no idea what Nagy is doing, or why we are still saying he is a branch from the Andy Reid coaching tree. Nagy clings to short yardage gadget plays that take too long to develop to be successful. There were less than 5 throws to the newly developed TE stable. Mitch had one really good drive. The play where Montgomery got the touchdown was my favorite Mitch play of the day. He didn't seem to panic when he rolled out of the pocket. He broke into a run, but once the LB committed, Montgomery was all alone. Perfectly executed. I comment on this because other than that play and a few other decent throws, nothing else about his game impressed me once again. He still has happy feet, still doesn't set properly before throwing. Still not seeing the entire field and all of his throws wobble and are often times off target. The Miller drop in the endzone was a perfectly thrown ball, but there just aren't enough of those. Miller should have caught it, but that's a really tough catch for a WR. One missed play shouldn't have as much impact on the scoring as this team seems to deal with every single week.

Given the cap issues at the time, I was shocked they resigned Trevathan. Probably could have brought back both Nick Kwiatkoski and Pierre-Louis combo for less.

$4.2m is dirt cheap for his production. And the starting running back could have a lingering injury all year if they rush him back to soon. I'm in favor of bringing him in. A change of scenery just might be what the doctor ordered.

Honestly thought Jeffress was going to walk in the tying run. He stuck it out and got the final out. But that was scary.

We actually gamble when we play, and anything inside the grip of the putter is a gimme. The biggest reason is to keep play moving, especially on a hot day. We average about 4 hours a round when we play, and that's plenty of time in the sun. Oh, and I still amazingly look up on shots. It drives me nuts that I still do that on occasion. The old saying is if you want to see a bad shot, look up. And it's so true. Stay the F down on your shot if you want to improve.

I heard Len announce the Saturday start time, and I guess i had a brain fart and tuned in right at that time, when I obviously live 2 time zones away from Chicago. Started the game from the beginning, surfed Facebook between innings around the 4th inning or so only to see someone had posted the final score. That saved me from any more pain, I guess. Wasn't Darvish's worst first start of the year, but that was not good. I do hate CB Bucknor, however. You know an umpire sucks when the Fox guys are hinting at how bad the strike zone is.

it's going to depend on just how good you want to get. I would recommend continuing with the You Tube videos to fix the problems you are having and then practicing more at the range. I've never taken lessons and don't care to. I'm happy with an occasional '70's round and most rounds in the low to mid '80's. I'm 56 now, so I would expect my game to be changing to a much shorter game in the next 5 to 10 years anyway. If you are a nerd to technique, stick with that. Part of my problem from the very start of my life in golf is not being a stickler for the basic mechanics of the swing. I get up there and fire away. I don't always have my feet set the same way. I don't always balance myself. The ball may be a bit forward in my stance, or back in my stance. Sometimes I have an inside out swing with my irons. Sometimes I have an outside in swing with my driver. Those faults lead to blow up holes, but I just can't seem to want to focus on a stringent plan to address the ball. Check with your local course. They may offer monthly deals. My local course has a $40 a month membership (American Golf) that gives cheaper rates to play rounds and 2 free buckets of balls everyday at the range (although the range is currently set up as appointment only). It costs me $20 a round to play golf and I get a free drink ticket. If I walked, it would be even cheaper.

It will depend on whether Seattle can get him signed to a new contract as to whether this trade was worth it, IMO.
