  1. New plan. Now I'm going with Dak at QB. Then I'm going double threat from the Eagles with Sanders and Smith. All three play at noon on Sunday in two games, which allows me to put both of those games on two of my bar tv's, and then I can put Red Zone on the other one. Bears really haven't been giving up crazy yards to receivers, so I may still look at other options at WR. Garrett Wilson looks enticing as an option since he's going against Detroit. Jefferson just torched their secondary last Sunday. No Red Zone during fantasy playoffs for me if I go with Wilson. Or do I haul another tv to the man cave Sunday after the World Cup? Hmmm. Just talked myself into it. Hell yeah! Just horsefeathering win baby!
  2. This. No QB pressure against Hurts spells disaster. You give him time to hit one of this three main targets and they will light up the scoreboard. I just hope Fields does a great job trying to keep them in the game. I managed a wild card fantasy berth because of Fields. Need a win this week to make it to the money.
  3. Been doing some research this am and I'm leaning with.... Deshawn Watson vs. the Ravens Miles Sanders vs. Bears Keenan Allen vs. Titans Pickings are slim at WR now. Everyone is a hit and miss fantasy guy each week. I could change to Michael Pittman, but he's really been disappointing this year. Indy's line might be worse than the Bears. I'm guessing Matt Ryan wished he retired. I could go with Devanta Smith at WR, but I still want to stay away from teammates in the same line up. I still have quite a few RB options if I decided to put Smith in there vs. the Bears. Stevenson, A. Jones, Pollard, Elliott, Montgomery to name a few. If this were a contest that rewarded you for having a top line up, I'd worry about uncorrelated plays like RB-WR on the same team. But this is the exact opposite. I wouldn't go out of my way to do it, but I'd actually be looking for opportunities to do RB-WR on the same team. It makes it more likely for you to land in the middle of the remaining entries, which is a win. Sanders-Devanta seems like a great play to me. Interesting thought. Not sure I've seen any teams do it so far, but I also haven't really been looking that closely at the other team's patterns. Brisker and Gordon are expected back this week with fresh legs, which was also weighing a bit on my decision. I think I'm most concerned about QB. Even though it's suggested that Watson is expected to have a big game against the Ravens, the Ravens D has been rather bullish since they traded for Roquan, minus the game against Jacksonville. Granted, they've played rather crappy teams/QB's during that span, but that's kinda where Cleveland falls at the moment along with a division rivalry. I have to outguess my opponents, who likely have rather similar remaining players. Maybe they go Devanta and Sanders. This is the hardest week for me to choose so far. Here are my QB choices this week: Geno Smith vs. SF Trevor Lawrence vs. Dallas Goff vs. Jets Dimes vs. Commanderskins Brady vs. Bengals Carr vs. Patriots Some guy I've never heard of (ATL) vs. Saints Ryan vs. Vikings Tannehill vs. Chargers Dalton vs. Falcons Davis Mills vs. Chiefs Prescott vs. Jags Mac Jones vs. Raiders Heineke vs. Giants Mayfield vs. Packers Somebody (Jets) vs. Lions Somebody (Steelers) vs. Panthers Somebody (9ers) vs. Seahawks McCoy vs. Denver Darnold vs. Steelers Rypien vs. Cardinals Cardinals QB? vs. Denver Maybe this is the week to go with Dallas (Prescott). Dallas is now tied with the Vikings for the #2 seed. They can't be messing around and lose. Maybe Prescott, Devanta Smith and Miles Sanders. Matt Ryan is expected to have a decent day against the Vikings, but will he survive another sack or does he care to try to beat anybody now? My other thought is that I do need to have some playoff QB options once this battle goes into the playoffs. If there is a way to still have Prescott, Brady, along with a few others (Geno, Tannehill, Daniel Jones, Heineke, Tannehill), that would potentially help me in these final weeks if I make it that far.
  4. This could still get much worse. They could spend big (since they have all of this money and a green light) on a bunch of nobodys to try to save face.
  5. How many teams in your league if you are playing guys like Boyd, Chark, Pacheco and Homer? Yuck! Byes for Olave, McLaurin, and Robinson Jr. Burks injured. Wasn't even thinking of the 6 team bye week. Makes sense to me now. I had a strong roster this week, but my entire bench was on bye except for one injured player that was out on Sunday.
  6. Who you going with this week? Been doing some research this am and I'm leaning with.... Deshawn Watson vs. the Ravens Miles Sanders vs. Bears Keenan Allen vs. Titans Pickings are slim at WR now. 7. The Patriots D scored 25 points How many teams in your league if you are playing guys like Boyd, Chark, Pacheco and Homer? Yuck!
  8. But why not just root for Fields to play well and the team to lose? Defense is plenty bad enough. Because it's stupid You cheer for the team to win, but hope they lose.
  9. I made it another week thanks to that last DK Metcalf catch with less than a minute left in the game. That one catch moved me up 3 places to 7 spots above the cut line with only 6 teams below me having someone playing the Sunday or Monday night games. If I don't move up those 3 places, I probably don't make the cut. 13 people left.

    NFL Week 14

It was fun watching Brock Purdy outplay Tom Brady all day. Of course, we are only talking about a 7th rounder beating a 6th rounder.
  11. The ideal scenario, IMO, would be to have the 2nd pick and trade it back only a few places to a QB desperate team so that you can pick up at least a 2nd round pick and still get one of Carter or Anderson.
  12. Alyssa Barbieri posted the Bears opponents for next year. Atlanta- Home Carolina- Home Denver- Home Detroit- Twice GB- Twice Kansas City- Away Las Vegas- Home LA Chargers- Away Minn- Twice New Orleans- Away Tampa Bay- Away NFC East- Same place finisher Away NFC West- Same place finisher Home AFC North- Same place finisher Away ETA: Home and Away for the 3 unknown teams
  13. Who’d you go with? Since none of my guys played on Thursday, I still have the option to change players. I'm still sitting with Cousins, Mixon and Metcalf at the moment. I'll review it again Sunday morning, but that's where I'm leaning.
  14. It's possible that the Bellinger and Taillon signings this soon are to help intrigue Senga, who wants to go to a team that wants to win right now. Those two moves probably don't move the needle that much, but the SS talk along with those moves could certainly help.
  15. This thread is for Arson Judge I fixed the title to say Yankees, but I left Arson in there.
  16. Thought I was going Dak Prescott against the lowly Texans this week, but I'm liking this lineup for week 14 King Of The Hill... Kirk Cousins vs. crappy Detroit pass defense Joe Mixon (fresh legs after missing two games with a concussion vs. Cleveland's woeful defense (surrendering 3rd most fantasy points per game) DK Metcalf vs. Carolina (averaging giving up 34 fantasy points per game to opposing receivers. I'm one of 19 remaining teams in a survivor league that started with over 2000 participants and over 4000 teams. Starting to wish they paid out to 4-8 places. Oh well, go big or go home!
  17. Yeah, I didn't read the whole tweet. I have now. Somewhat related....I think Kmet has done enough in the last several games to warrant an extension at this point. I think he may end up being a really special player for this team once the OLine issues get resolved.
  18. It would seem to me that they could go crazy on free agent signings and then offer up extensions where warranted. Couldn't they also frontload some contracts where needed?
  19. Hey guys, check out the cute delusional Packers troll who registered just to make this lame attempt at denying his worst fears. Saw that earlier. Thought maybe someone might approve that post long enough for a few people to get a laugh before Modzilla made a very rare appearance and blasted this clown to the moon.
  20. I made it another week. It's down to 19 people. I was the only one who went with Aaron Rodgers and Dameon Pierce. Neither was very good this week, but Amon Ra St Brown killed it for me. Of the 9 people who lost this week, Trevor Lawrence and Aaron Jones were the most popular guys they used. Every person that got knocked out this week either had Lawrence or Herbert as their QB. Trevor and Herbert both did better than Rodgers, but those guys got nothing to speak of from their receiver spot (Cooper/Kirk/Kelce). Now to figure out how to get through week 14 with 6 teams on a bye week. Yikes.
  21. They will be playoff caliber next year. They've been in most games this year with very limited talent on the field. The division is going to start flipping next year where the Lions and Bears are the elite teams in the division. I feel like it will be fairly easy for Poles to rebuild the defense and offensive line via FA and before the draft and the draft itself will just be building depth and talent where it's lacking.
  22. I think that’s fair. Fields is a year younger than all three and has two years less experience than Herbert and one year less than Hurts and Tua. I think Hurts’ and Tua’s year 3 leaps are a good goal for Fields next year. Fields is pretty clearly out-performing all the other QBs in his draft class. By the way, I don’t think it’s generally appreciated how good a season Tua is having. 9 yards per attempt and throwing a TD on 6.7% of throws are eye-popping stats. Sure would be nice for Fields to have comparable receivers to what Tua has. May have to wait and see what the 2024 free agent class has to offer.
  23. My theme this year has been to put many of the available players against the Bears D. After week 18, we go into playoffs. Most of the remaining teams will likely not have a playoff QB unless it's someone's backup because the starter is hurt. Or there may be some team that gets in with a crappy/risky QB like Danny Dimes. In fact, I might try to save a guy like that for the playoffs if I'm lucky enough to make it that far. Once the Sunday games start, you can see everyone's line up and it shows you what percentage of a particular guy is being used for the week. Now that it's down to 28 people, the percentage thing isn't as meaningful. It's pretty hard to try to make it through this without using a big name QB each week. Especially now that the top RB and WR's have been used up. Side note. I was pretty excited about my progress until I did the math you did above and learned that this contest will be going into the playoffs. That's a lot of weeks remaining to stay in the top 2/3 each week.
  24. What do you mean by "you get 2 teams"? Do you get to pick 2 teams and get their QB, RB, WR/TE? Or do you pick 2 sets of QBs, RBs, WR/TEs for around the league? $15 buys you two entries into the competition. Each team you choose one QB, RB, WR/TE to fill your roster for the week. My other team got knocked out in week 3 with subpar performances from Kirk Cousins against Detroit and Davante Adams vs. Tennessee. The killer was David Montgomery leaving with an injury vs. Houston and their league worst rush defense at the time. My team that is still in is currently sitting with Trevor Lawrence, Aaron Jones and Amon Ra for the upcoming week. I'm probably going to go with Aaron Rodgers (we all know how Rodgers always plays against the Bears) if he plays this week, though. Which will change my RB since I don't want two from the same team. I've also toyed with going with Watson this week, but I think I'd rather see him play a game before risking my team. So, I'm looking at Lawrence, Jones and St. Brown or Rodgers, Dameon Pierce and Amari Cooper or a mix and match of those depending on how I feel on game day. The RB and WR position is getting thin. I still have plenty of QB's to choose from, but the elite guys are all used up.
