  1. You aren't watching the Mannings? It's way more fun watching those two idiots insult each other during a meaningless, boring game.
  2. I'm sure the ratings machine hates showing Patrick Mahomes on tv. It must be Taylor Swift.
  3. Well, it's something. I assumed he would just be cut.
  4. And he's doing it with a bunch of no name receivers.
  5. The conspiracy theory is working. I'm watching preseason games now.
  6. And the Blackhawks deserved to have the lottery rigged in their favor for what reason? Hey, where exactly was Lovie Smith on the day of the lottery draft order anyway?
  7. Washington is good at pressuring the QB. Howell is decent if he is given time to throw. Recipe for disaster. I also think that Eberflus is losing or has already lost this team and I fully expect Poles to try to save his own job by firing him Friday morning at the latest. I've got tickets to see Robert Cray Thursday night, so after I watch the replay on Friday morning, then I expect to see the announcement.
  8. I had them at 85 wins. I expected better from Taillon. I didn't anticipate the Stroman injury. I felt Hendricks would be better overall on his return. I also didn't see the bullpen being so injured and MIA. This team really should have been in the playoffs, but...... I feel like Ross isn't the guy to take a young team to the next level.
  9. I'd expect the firing to take place after the Commanders game. They stand no chance against that defensive line. And Howell is diligent when given time, which is what our DLine is famous for.
  10. Fields called Claypool and Claypool told him that Eberflus told him to stay home, so Eberflus was basically lying that Claypool just stayed home on his own. At this point, I wouldn't let this coaching staff trade him. An embarrassment to Washington on Thursday, and it's the coaching staff that needs to be shown the door, not a WR who basically told the truth even if he (of all people) should have kept his mouth shut. This management team is in way over their heads and the fallout from this game is probably not something they can overcome.
  11. Too depressing to look at the standings. Is my math correct that the Cubs have to win out and Marlins lose out to be in at this point?
  12. The problems with this team look a lot worse than a few tweaks here and there. But, it is a fast moving game and I suppose anything is possible. I'd love to see Fields turn it on this week, but I still think they lose in a shootout if the Bears do figure it out offensively. Mims, Jeudy and Sutton will be tough for a bunch of second and/or third string defensive backs to stop. Going into this season, I really thought a combo of Moore, Mooney, Claypool and Kmet would be enough fire power to make their standard points be in the 20+ range every game, regardless of the defense and regardless of any OLine deficiencies. Add in Fields' running ability and a strong RB room and I'm speechless that they found a way to screw this up. Now, I don't have faith or confidence in them to string together 3 first downs in the same drive.
  13. Detroit clearly favored Montgomery last night in those tough yardage situations.
  14. Agreed. Herbert looks like he's only really good at one thing, and that's bursting through holes. Blocking and catching passes out of the backfield don't seem to be pro level to be an all purpose back.
  15. I'd bet the Bears offered Montgomery more money than Detroit gave him. Montgomery wanted to break the bank like Bell, Gordon III, Taylor, etc... and teams are not inclined to blow cap money on similar production from a rookie contract draftee or a one year signing like Foreman. Montgomery didn't get what he wanted, so he looked for greener pastures, and won but also lost. He's on a much better team, but I believe he left money on the table by not taking a Bears offer.
  16. Isn't it fun to think Andy Reid turns Mitch Trubisky into a HOF quarterback after only 5 seasons, while the Bears flounder with the failure of yet another early round QB in Patrick Mahomes?
  17. Well, yeah if you put it that way. What the hell was I thinking? I need another cup of coffee. Sheesh!
  18. If they have picks #1 and #2, you still say that? I don't think I do. The haul for Caleb Williams should be astronomical.
  19. I've read that Eberflus was interviewed by the Bears before Poles was hired, and I've read that the Bears had already pretty much all but named him as their HC before Poles was hired, but normally a new GM gets to make this hire, assuming it wasn't a big name HC that can be trusted with whoever is hired as GM. So I did a bit of internet browsing about the strange hire of Eberflus only days after Poles was hired. Most of what I see online is that Eberflus was always going to be Poles' guy if he became a GM. They had some sort of previous history together and Poles really liked Eberflus.
  20. If Maye is the guy, they should have the potential to trade the first overall pick for a new haul, while keeping their place in line to draft Maye. Caleb Williams might force this situation also, due to his father's urgency that bad teams are not welcome to draft his son. Even though the Bears are clearly the worst team in the league, all effort will need to be made to beat Carolina on a chilly Thursday night in November in Chicago.
  21. That wouldn't be fair to him at all. He's the reason they are in this hunt in the first place.
  22. Benching Fields won't clear his head. It will wreck his confidence even more. The more simple solution is wait for the inevitable Fields injury and toss Bagent out there because the Bagent fans will lose their minds if you go with a known non-commodity in Peterman. To me, you only bench Fields if the experiment is completely over. For me, it probably takes a new OC or someone else calling offensive plays before it's completely over. Not sure how you find a new play caller mid season, Didn't Janocko play under Getsy somewhere else where he would just be more of the same? This team is in coaching hell.
  23. Guys, it's the coaching staff, not Fields. My fantasy team is 3-0 with Fields as my starting QB. With that said, I'm as much a homer for Fields to be good as anyone, but boy..... it's getting really hard to defend at this point. 99 yards in a blowout game where garbage time yards are usually the easiest yards to get in a game ever, and 49 yards was the total passing yards for the second half. I felt like the OLine gave Fields a lot of time to throw and nothing came from it. Granted, KC did blitz a lot and it blew up plays pretty well, but to only have 22 pass attempts in a game you are losing badly early in the second quarter is mind blowing. Darnell Wright shut down Chris Jones pretty well in that game. I think Jones' sack came from the other side. Denver game is winnable, but not without most of their starting DB's playing. I'm penciling in a loss for the Washington game. That front 4 will have a field day against our line, and with no pass rush, Howell will have the necessary time to look like a HOF QB. Is Mooney broken? I seem to recall he pulled up lame sometime during the Tampa game and he had one target vs. KC.
  24. Changing Fields' mechanics added a new wrinkle to his personality that has created lack of confidence. Lack of confidence is a QB killer. Absolutely nothing is going right in Fields' game and it is now showing in his demeanor. Getsy is trying to turn him into a pocket passer and everything Fields learned prior to Getsy is now in doubt. I think Fields went into the KC game with the idea to get back on track, but receivers not being open while he is reading his progressions, receivers dropping passes, Fields missing his target, running lanes not open, OLinemen missing their blocks, etc.... Fields is turning into his own worst enemy in now believing he isn't capable of running an NFL offense. An NFL QB has to have swagger, which Mahomes may be the all time king of swagger. Fields gives the appearance of deer in the headlights now, which I don't believe he had previously. This coaching staff has ruined him.
