  1. The timing on the Williams thing seems a bit weird, also. If he really did/does have CP on his computer at home, why was Williams given time off ahead of the supposed raid? Was Williams tipped off that a raid was coming, and he went home and watched tv instead of hiding evidence? Was he doing something during this "personal time" that alarmed someone to get the Feds involved? Might need some popcorn for this one.
  2. Very weird. Weirder yet is that they feel like either QB needs to be protected from waivers.
  3. Maybe they keep it close enough in KC. But, Denver coming into town next week and it's highly likely they too will be 0-3. Pooping the bed against Denver at home with the boo birds out in full force (regardless of who is to blame for the offense) might force a change sooner.
  4. To me, the Peterman release is just to bump him back down to the practice squad. He's really good at holding a clipboard, and if Fields poops the bed on Sunday, they can start giving Bagent a look to see if the entire QB room needs to be blown up. Peterman has proven he'll never be anything more than an emergency replacement. If I had to guess, management was probably not happy with Fields' original comments to the press and asked him to walk them back. If Fields continues to flounder (regardless of who is to blame), management may be forced to prove to the fanbase that Bagent is not a legit replacement candidate. A blowout in KC might be the perfect place to stick Bagent out there to sink or swim. I'd guess Bagent has less than a 20% chance of being a good NFL QB, but he did show magnificent poise in the pocket, progressed through his reads and had pretty good accuracy in completing passes, moving the ball and putting points on the board, although it was mostly against 3rd stringers.
  5. Crushed, but his right hand actually came off the bat on that swing. At first, I wasn't sure he had enough contact to drive it out, but that shows just how strong that kid is.
  6. To be fair with Bryce, his best WR plays for the Bears. His crew is Adam Thielen, DJ Chark, Leviska Shenault and Jonathan Mingo, with Hayden Hurst at TE. That's going to be tough for his development, especially when Thielen gets injured from trying to be the same Thielen from 5 years ago.
  7. Nope. It's definitely Kmet.
  8. A pocket passer that has no creative offensive plays to create positivity. I was practically screaming for a first down bomb or a deep pass on 2nd and 1 early in the second half. I was like "do something you aren't already doing", and they kept doing the same things they are already doing. I'm pretty sure when we get the QB School feed this week, we are going to see a lot of open receivers being passed over for sacks. Moore has to be targeted more than 10 times a game. He needs to be the biggest part of their offense. You target him so often, others become open because the defense starts leaning his way. The offense is as predictable as it can be. I felt Fields had more time to throw this game and all he really did was hold it longer. I also feel like he's dropping back and not even ready to make a quick throw if he did see someone get open. Basically, anything beyond 10 yards doesn't appear to be a part of this offense.
  9. I have tickets to the Carolina/Bears Thursday night game. How do we get both teams to lose that game? I'm not sure a tie will be good enough.
  10. fields definitely showed his ass in this game. But, I was at a Bears fans football party all day and I was screaming for this offense to shake up the play book and pretend like they want to win this football game and just throw one downfield on first down or 2nd down and 1, but nope, same ole, same ole, screen, running play, blah, blah, blah. This offense and defense is about as vanilla as it gets. How easy is it it to prepare for a vanilla offense and defense? Fields proved he may not be an NFL QB yesterday, but this coaching staff also proved they are in way over their heads. They are playing checkers while their opponents are playing chess. ETA: And hell yes, I took Baker Mayfield in both of my King of the Mountain fantasy teams (survivor style roster) this week. Giving DC Williams some well earned time off made me a bit nervous, but I stuck to my guns.
  11. DirecTV not only lost Sunday Ticket, but I don't have CBS right now, either. Not sure when that holdout will end, but DirecTV is running a Facebook ad that basically says "DirecTV is Not Fumbling The Ball" or something of that nature, and it's basically a promo by DirecTV that they have all the football you can possibly watch. The comments are pretty hysterical. Some don't have NBC, some don't have CBS and others don't have Fox, and DirecTV comments on every comment as if there is something they can tell people that would satisfy their anger. I have 3 tv's set up in my man cave, and I had plans to watch the Bears on the main tv, RedZone on the second and whatever CBS game was on the third tv. I learned an hour before game time that I don't even have CBS. So I downloaded the CBS Sports app, and instead of the Vikings game, they had the Colts. So I went to Paramount +, which is also showing CBS football content, and they had the Browns/Bengals. Neither was worth wasting my precious internet data since I have to save it for Thursday night Amazon games, so I just turned the 3rd tv off. I won't lose my mind about CBS until the Bears are scheduled to play there and I can't watch.
  12. The jumping jacks was probably my favorite part of that video. Even better was him spelling out B-E-A-R-S while he skipped.
  13. That scheme works if you actually have 4 guys who can disrupt the offensive scheme. Since it can't, improvisation is quite necessary. Adjustments weren't made in game 1 when it was clearly needed. That's on coaching. Coaching should have known before the game that Tampa-2 wasn't going to be enough. You've got excellent LB's to get pressure on the QB. You have safeties dying to do something other than run routes. Stevenson and Gordon seem like guys who could provide pressure on the QB. Stevenson seems like a guy who could bat down a throw and maybe even catch it and score a td. Mayfield is probably going to go to Godwin early and often on Sunday. If he has time to throw all day, guys will get open and Fields will need to figure out a way to score more than 30 points with this OLine clearly not ready to protect him well enough to score 30 points. I just don't feel like one week is enough time to fix everything that went wrong in week 1, so this team is looking at being 0-3 going into week 4. Can they even find decent coaching during the season if replacements are needed? I'd hate to think they have to punt the season this early.
  14. If I was building an expansion football team and my only NFL options at QB were Z. Wilson and Trubisky, I'd take Wilson. But, I'm pretty sure I'd be looking for a college QB to be my year one starter over those options. I think Wilson will be fine as the fill in this year. I don't think they can go far in the playoffs, but he's got horses to get them there.
  15. i think you definitely have to make him inactive this Sunday. St. Brown will block and he could be a decent enough third receiver option paired with Scott until Claypool gets his head out of his ass.
  16. Rodgers isn't an athlete. He's an ass.
  17. Sorry I missed this. Maybe next year if you have openings.
  18. Time to give Terrel Smith a look see. He supposedly had a decent camp. Of course, they were practicing against the Bears offense, so........
  19. It wouldn't be damned if you went that route, because all of your cap space could go towards the Lines. Cheap QB and WR for the next 5 years makes it where you can stack up proven NFL talent in the trenches.
  20. Yes. Olsen was 100% correct. Fans pay hundreds of dollars to see professional athletes try their best to win every game and until the clock says 0:00, you play your heart out. Who cares if the odds of winning is less than 1%, there is a lot that can be accomplished with time left on the clock. Hurry up offense is something that needs to be practiced, and during an actual live game is the best time to work on hurry up offensive drills, if not for that game but for future close games. Time management is extremely important to understand and execute. I was mad as hell when they were huddling up late in the game. I knew the game was over, but it showed a lack of care that they were losing to huddle up and waste time on the clock. They looked bad the entire game, but looked even worse when waving the white flag against a division rival with a lot of time still on the clock.
  21. This is actually one of the most disappointing games in my lifetime. While I was half ass expecting a playoff berth this year, signs of improvement for a long and happy future would have been all I needed this year. This game couldn't have gone worse. How do you have an entire offseason to prepare and be this bad at EVERYTHING? You recognize that you need pass catching, and you go get them and proceed to not throw to them. You beef up the line and instead of providing protection, you don't even collect fees at your turnstyle, you just send them on through. You know the DLine is inarguably the worst position on the field, and you rush 4 guys the entire game against a top 10 OLine. There was no attempt to disrupt their line of protection to the QB. Fields was just not good. He didn't look comfortable out there at any moment. As has been stated, he looked down his receivers the few times he had time to throw, and that rarely ever works. I don't even know where to begin with the playcalling. Bears fans endured two really bad seasons while this new front office got "their" guys and rebuilt this team from scratch. I get that there were massive changes and these guys are all still not in sync with one another on the field, but they had to be better than they were yesterday, and they weren't. We were going against a rival that has owned our asses for more years than anyone here wants to talk about, and we laid an egg on our home turf. I'm speechless that this is the best we could offer up to the fans. A passing attack that features DJ Moore, Mooney, Claypool, Kmet, Tonyan and how many times were they targeted? This is a passing league and most of the pass plays were behind the line of scrimmage when you have guys who can spread out the defense with the best of them. Do they not have any timing plays in their playbook? If the rush is bad, put the ball where the receiver runs to. The DB's don't know where the ball is going or where the receiver is going. Spread the field and the running game works better. We talk about having a great defensive backfield, but none of them are ever going to be used to go after the QB on a basic blitz? Create disruption. Reverse momentum. Create some confidence. This team lacked disruption, momentum and confidence, and I blame the coaching staff for all of that. H.I.T.S. doesn't work if you play lazy Cover 2 for an entire game. Opposing teams are very familiar with Cover 2 and you have to mix things up to keep them honest. Dallas comes at you from all directions. While we aren't Dallas talented on D, you can't just be vanilla and expect to create turnovers.
  22. That's good to know. I just got the sports package on DirecTV, so I now have NFL Redzone to go with my regional football games. That should satisfy me for this winter while I wait for the fiber optic to finish installing.
  23. Did you see Goff's numbers from last year? He seems to be really in tune with the playbook in Detroit now.
  24. I have 3 friends that are still stout Lions fans. I take my hat off to that kind of loyalty. I actually cheer along with them when they aren't playing the Bears. I can relate to fans who have even more sorry franchises than to cheer for than me.
  25. Everything I've read says you can watch up to 3 streams at the same time on one You Tube TV account.
