Just looked it up. It was August 2nd, 2001. Jason Bere went 7 innings and struck out 12. Cubs were winning 3-0 in the 9th when Klesko hit a grand slam walk off HR. -

I was at that game. Right field foul line. I got a crick in my neck watching that shot. And it wasn't just getting a guy on. It was a grand slam. -
So if you factor in players lost to injuries, the Cubs are still worse? The key word was "currently". When the injured players come back, the Cubs will most likely NOT be the worst team in baseball.

Cool. A thread where we bash the only team in baseball worse than the Cubs. What's KC's payroll? What's the Cubs payroll? I'll go ahead and be the bad guy and say the Cubs are currently the worst team in baseball when you factor EVERYTHING into the equation.

He's been staying ahead in the count, and then there are those times that the Cubs hitters will go ahead and make an out on the first pitch. Not a bad outing. But, I could probably go out there and have a good outing against this group.

He's not even a patch. You put a free swinger like Soriano on a team where the manager's best hitting advice is "be aggressive" and you can watch his OBP drop like a stone and his K-rate increase exponetially. Agreed. -
