While I don't typically sign up for social media apps, this one I might find interest in some day. Just not now. But, I do take pleasure in the fact that maybe this one will turn Twitter into nothing more than Truth Social at some point.

And while we are on the subject of linemen, Connor Williams has played every game for Seattle and signed a 2 year 14m contract, 8.5m guaranteed. I was under the impression he was going to miss about half a season recovering from an injury. I believe he was the best Center in free agency this past offseason.

Prepare to have your defensive stats propped up by playing the Bears offense, who are currently starting 5 guys on the OLine that arguably wouldn't be starters on any other NFL team, assuming Jenkins is now out and no one out last week comes back this week. Projected starters in week #1 were Braxton Jones, Teven Jenkins, Coleman Shelton, Nate Davis, Darnell Wright. Last week's line up at one point (Jenkins injured AGAIN) featured 3rd string LT Larry Borom, 3rd string Center and short yardage extraordinaire RB Doug Kramer at LG, Coleman Shelton, 2nd string Center Ryan Bates at RG and 2nd string RG Matt Pryor at RT. While Coleman Shelton is the current starting Center, he did not have that title on the team he came from.

I said this in the week 10 thread, but Darren Rizzi has literally no coaching experience above special teams coordinator in the NFL, yet he coached his team to a victory this week against a tough Atlanta opponent. This was his very first week taking over for Dennis Allen. Eric Washington can continue his work as DC and now that Brown is in place as OC, let any other coach on the roster who has respect from the players take over as interim. If it's a situation where the players have quit on this coaching staff, then replace the coach and see if that fixes things.

The Saints fired their coach. And that team played with heart in that victory on Sunday. They were playing with WR's you can't even name. Shaheed and Olave are both on IR. I think Taysom Hill was their back up RB. Darren Rizzi has never held a higher ranking in the NFL of Special Teams Coordinator prior to being named the interim head coach for the Saints. Just cut bait with Eberflus and Waldron already. Eric Washington can run the defense. Hell, he can just keep using Eberflus' playbook for that. Hire any warm body that the players respect to be the interim head coach and let the QB coach work with this offense to move the ball down the field. You can't convince me that the results would be worse. But, it's seeming more and more likely that the players have given up on this coaching staff and more of the same could result in an even worse situation than the one they find themselves in. More than anything, you need to find some competence before the season ends if you want any chance at a guy like Ben Johnson giving up his current gig, or even considering the Bears job the premium job to consider.

I watched that entire game with no emotion, and it went about as predictably bad as I would have imagined. I said it last week. This season is over. Nothing is pulling them out of this spiraling toilet bowl flush. I had so much hope for this season. Meanwhile, I watch Bo Nix, Jayden Daniels and Derek Maye every week and I'm jealous that our QB isn't having a passing field day with the likes of Moore, Kmet, Allen and Odunze running routes. I honestly thought there was going to be an offense we could be proud of. This team SUCKS!

Yeah. Last week looked like a team that isn't going to find its feet again anytime soon. But, playing at home sometimes makes a team look entirely different. Not sure why it factors in that much. The dimensions of the field are the same everywhere.

Weather and travel ease will definitely factor into the decision. Probably best to assume he'll be elsewhere and be surprised and happy if he chooses Chicago.

So if officials are going to treat a 2 point conversion the same way they treat a Hail Mary and simply ignore any and all penalties, it kinda seems like a bad idea to attempt them. I didn't actually see the play, so I'm just assuming your observations were correct.

I think the OP's expectation is that guys exiting their primes aren't the best people to be offering extensions to. This is exactly how the Cubs keep missing out on big name free agents. The earmarked money for a guy in decline is now eating from the money pool that could go to a Soto type FA. Maybe you keep one of them, but probably not both. IF there is no window for a big name FA, maybe you just run with what you have, but as is hasn't been good enough for a playoff run. More of the same isn't ideal.

This damn time change has me going to bed early. I did turn on the game in bed, but was asleep early in the 2nd quarter. Damn, I'm an old curmudgeon.

It wasn't a huge tear down. There was very little talent on the roster to begin with. Pace was so horrible at his job, he left the next GM very little to work with in talent, cash to spend or draft picks. Outside of trading Mack, I can't even remember the names of any other players that they jettisoned during the rebuild.

Watching yesterday's game was numbing. I didn't yell at the tv once. I just sat there numb. I kind of knew this was going to happen, because it's so Bearsy to have it happen. I think I'm also at that point in the season that nothing will shock me anymore this year. I'm ready to move on from yet another coaching staff. Start wherever you want....Poles, Eberflus, I don't care. Try to get it right this time, and can we please go agro on improving this offensive line? This team was playing like they have already given up on this season and this coaching staff, and considering I was numb to everything that was happening in front of me, I guess I've given up on this team now, too. I'll continue to watch, because I don't not watch. But the excitement of possibly being a wild card or some caliber of playoff team is over at this point. If that's the best showing that they can give against Arizona, it's going to be even uglier in the coming weeks. I won't be the guy wishing we had Daniels or Nix, but it's frustrating as hell watching those guys hit guys in stride, hit their guys in open areas where there is YAC, go deep for a connection, take off running when a play breaks down, etc... A semblance of an actual offense, something we are not getting with all world talent littering the roster. I saw Waldron attempting to create plays to get DJ in space, but there is zero space when the defense doesn't need to wander any further than about 10 yards beyond the line of scrimmage when there is no threat of a deep play, because A) the line won't hold up for a deep patter, and B) Caleb is constantly way off target on deep patterns. This season is basically over. Sell what you can and try not to let anyone die on the field before this season is over.

That's right. Punish the entire team for some stupidity from the previous week. How stupid. There is no punishment worse than the shellacking Stevenson is taking on social media. And let some more fans boo him from the stands when he takes the field. If benching Stevenson for even one series and the Bears end up losing that game, I'll be ready to move on with an interim coach. At some point, I'm sure I thought benching a guy for stupidity was a good idea. But, having time to reflect, it would not be in the best interest of the team to put a better player on the bench. The biggest problem I have with disciplinary action on Stevenson is Eberflus deserves the same disciplinary action for his NON actions in letting Washington come back and win that game at the end.

Their page says they will eventually have a tower in Peoria IL and several other places as well. Why they weren't prepared to have them ready before the season started is the biggest blunder of them all. That sports app isn't going to make it at those prices. People will laugh at that. Most of them will want Bulls/Blackhawks, but not at $40 a month. And the $30 offering gives the appearance people want the White Sox, which they probably won't. I've already debated getting the Marquee app for next season, but $20 for that AND $30 for Bulls/Hawks/White Sox? horsefeathers no. I'll keep streaming illegally since they pretty much forced me to do so anyway. Or at least until they get the antenna working in Peoria.

The Lions had 262 yards in returns on kicks and punts yesterday. They averaged 72 yards on kick return and 38 yards on punt returns. Goff never needed to throw a pass in that game.

That game had very few redeeming qualities. I give credit to Eberflus for being a defensive guru. As a head coach, I'm not impressed. You cannot have your players behaving the way they've been behaving. Pryor with a sportsmanship flag 2 weeks ago. Stevenson with one yesterday. Brisker mocking opponents with his hands every game. Stevenson chatting it up with the fans no where near the play WHILE the play is actually happening. As the coach, you have to control your team. I can excuse the sportsmanship stuff when you are protecting your teammates. Stevenson was just being an ass to get his. And that last play, his behavior is inexcusable. I've thought about him being benched, but I'd rather see the fan base boo his ass and let the media point out his stupidity non stop as his punishment rather than miss a game. He is a tremendous player most of the time. I'ts Flus that needs to get control of his locker room. But don't even get me started with Waldron. I look at last year's Seattle team and the air show, and he's here handing the ball to Doug freaking Kramer on the goal line. Maybe you try something like that on 3rd or 4th down, but you don't even let Roschon try it first? The most inexcusable thing to me was after what, 13-14 days of rest, you come out with 2 yard run, sack, penalty 3rd and 20 to start this horsefeathers game? Really dude? Go horsefeathers yourself, my dude. Absolute worst team in the history of all things sports on the first series of a game. You almost have to be purposely lulling everyone to sleep with that nonsense. Last year, I get it if you do that. You have very few playmakers. This year, design a play that surprises EVERYONE. I just can't even with this OC. I just can't. I've pretty much already given up on having any chance this year given that no rookie QB has ever taken their team to a Super Bowl. But the coaching isn't even close to good enough offensively to take this team to the playoffs. And that's ignoring how bad this OLine is. And I'll be damned if I want them wasting picks to try to improve it in what will clearly be a lost season anyway. Pocket the picks and fix the line this offseason. And maybe think about some coaching changes, AGAIN! I'd take Caleb over Jayden 10 times out of 10. End rant!

There is no guarantee that Velus won't find his way to the practice squad, so don't celebrate too loudly. I remember in that draft that the need for a legit WR was so loud, and George Pickens was still available with that second of two 2nd round picks (Brisker). The drop off in decent receivers even then was significant, and looking back now, yikes, what a really bad year for WR's in general. Drake London, Garrett Wilson and Chris Olave were the darlings of the draft. As a refresher, Darnell Mooney led all WR's in receptions with 40. Kmet did lead the team in receptions and yards. Of the receivers on the entire 2022 Bears roster, only Darnell Mooney and Velus Jones have caught a pass in the NFL in 2024.

If Dexter is as good as advertised, then you probably don't need a Myles Garrett type DE to improve dramatically. I'd rather get the kid from Jacksonville for a much lesser draft pick cost. I'd rather save those first round picks and continue building from within. We honestly don't know how well this Bears team stacks up against the better teams in the league, and we probably won't know before the trade deadline. So making a big splash trade wouldn't be something I would want to see them do. I also think this is all just speculation. All these social media sites are creating trade scenarios to generate hits, and most of them are laughable. I can't tell you how many trade Robinson, Davis, Herbert and Borom trade scenarios I saw just yesterday. None of those guys are bringing any value in return, so it's just a bunch of noise/nonsense. And how many trades actually happen each year before the deadline? Half a dozen? A dozen? That's still less than 1 per team that still has a chance at the playoffs. A defense that hasn't allowed more than 21 points since last season some time isn't where they need the most help if they want to take the next step. That OLine has more holes than a pasta callender. I'm not about to start pretending that it all of a sudden got good because they whooped by the Jaguars and Panthers. If you really want to improve and make a playoff run, that's probably where you focus your energy. But, I'm not sure the cost would be worth it. Might be better to let a season where you've played well and are still in last place play out and make more improvements in the offseason with every resource available. No rookie QB has ever gotten their team to a Super Bowl. If it happens this year, it should be based on the current roster plus maybe a minor upgrade here or there, but not by mortgaging the future.

You can launch like that if you have guys who can crash the boards. The Bulls will be bottom feeders in rebounds this year. Poor shooting and poor rebounding coupled with poor defense is a recipe for last place.

I got a VPN and linked into the Bulls game last night via Streameast, and in the final 7 or 8 minutes that I actually saw, there was about 10 shots that got blocked by the Pelicans. So that was fun.

I'm in a free fantasy league where most every team did autodraft. I ended up with Giddey and my first week opponent has LaVine, but no points were scoring for those guys in real time like everyone else. Of course, it's an ESPN league. LOL.

In the very same game, Williams did push it on the run to the goal line. Rather than go out, he turned up field and got down to about the 2 yard line. I'm fine with a bit of hard nose where it's warranted, like close to the end zone. Middle of the field with a fresh set of downs already in your pocket is fine for an easy slide.
