Do you think they can/will be playoff caliber next year? Any big name free agents they could lure here this coming offseason?

It's almost an afterthought. I didn't understand that break either. Is it because ticketing/travel for attendees? And what exactly is the reason transferring players can't finish out their season with their respective teams?

One of my biggest issues with Campbell's aggressive style is keeping his starting QB in when the game is essentially over. I have a feeling that it's going to cost him his starting QB at some point, which will also likely end their season, since Hendon Hooker doesn't even get garbage time reps. The Tennessee, Jacksonville and Dallas games Detroit had a combined 151 points to the opponents 29 points, and Hooker has 33 snaps this season. 9 pass attempts. I was sitting there watching a complete blow out and Goff was still chucking the ball down the field as if it was a close game. Weird.

I'm not sure I see it that way. This might be the only window to get rid of him, and if you can you must do it. It's one of the worst contracts in the NBA. I had the game on Monday night and I'm not sure I've ever watched a more painful NBA game, and the Bulls actually won. Run down the court as fast as you can and fire up a 3, doesn't matter who it is. And make sure all 5 guys are beyond the arc so there is no one to rebound the likely miss. They were 14-51 from 3 point land this past Friday and then 14-40 on Monday. Booooring!

I think a lot of it is he's just hearing footsteps now, whether they are there or not. That's always bad when you distrust your line so much, you can't focus on what you are supposed to be focused on.

It's very telling if this team really needs to trade down to accumulate more picks. It's why Poles has to be a dead man walking. Back to the game.....I got such a chuckle at Aikman being concerned the Bears used up all of their time outs. The Bears scored 6 points in 3 and a half quarters, but they should have been conserving time outs so they could put 20 on the board in the last half of the last quarter? Then there was the stupid comment about how Poles has done a great job with the roster. Haha! I think Odunze is better than this team has allowed him to be. He's getting more separation from his defenders, and much quicker. For some reason, he isn't a primary target. He was wide open in the middle of the field where he could easily be seen by the QB, but the ball goes flying in some other direction time and time again.

If I used one. I'd share it. I rely on the people here that know way more about that horsefeathers than me. I don't care what sources they use. And maybe their source isn't that much different than yours. Maybe they are setting aside trade deadline cash in their calcs. It's not really something to lose sleep over.

And at least the 3rd time overall this year.

Once the Cubs sign all of the LHSP's, this will no longer be a problem. 😜

He's trying to win the most annoying poster of the week award away from Tom. I could barely get through the Winter Meetings thread where every other post was Thaw reminding us once again the Cubs will never sign Tucker to a long term contract.

The Vikings were fun to watch during the Purple People Eater/Tarkenton/Rashad years. The Bears, not so much. In fact, I'm not sure I would have been much more than a casual fan if it weren't for Walter Payton. I missed most of the Sayers years because I was too young and only saw the end of the Butkus years. Payton made it where I refused to miss a game.

Vance Law is probably in my top 10 of guys who do not look like major league baseball players.

With Warren saying he's going to be involved with the next coaching hire, you could almost gather that the writing is on the wall that Poles is as good as gone. The players didn't look like they were playing any harder for Brown last week than they were for Flus. Then, a guy like Ben Johnson comes right out and says that there would need to be some stability in upper management before he would even consider coming to Chicago. You simply can't give Poles an extension given his full body of work in Chicago, so for stability's sake he has to go if you want to go big with someone like Johnson. And it has to really bug someone like Warren to hear and feel the mocking of the entire organization, as that reflects on him, too. So you can't stay the course with Poles and hire from the second tier of head coach offerings because then really are guilty of wash, rinse, repeat. But this time you are doing it with way too good of a QB to waste his entire rookie contract trying to put the wrong puzzle pieces in place. I'm guessing the decision is already made, but the announcement won't happen until season's end.

Wouldn't you think that the Cubs would have to beat Boston's offer moreso than match, just because the perception of the Cubs getting the better end of a deal from their cross town rivals would be a bad look in a sea of bad looks the White Sox already have? In that case, you can't blame Jed for not wanting to put together a package better than what Breslow did.

I'd be happy if the the Cubs were OTA with the Bulls and Hawks. Only thing I'm not understanding is why Peoria only has one CHSN channel. Maybe another one will happen eventually. I have my antenna hooked up and I have crystal clear Hawks games now. I might want to look into some sort of DVR option where I can tape games, but not crucial since replays are plentiful.

Maybe we will see Thomas Brown take over as interim GM in another week or two. LOL.

If watching my favorite football team horsefeathers the bed week after week isn't enough, I have the 2nd most points in my entire fantasy league (12 teams) by a significant amount, and my team will be sitting out the playoffs. We even have a 6 team playoff format, and my team still didn't make it. 6 wins and 8 losses. Meanwhile, the top team in my division is currently 11-2 with one more player going tonight that can make him 12-2. I currently have outscored his team by over 100 points. I split our head to head matchup with him, It was kinda like the Bears outscoring the opposition overall, but losing games. Good times.

I saw a blip about how Ben Johnson wouldn't even consider the Bears job unless there was some stability in upper management. In other words, a new GM or an extension for Poles. And this was obviously said before this game. There is no way that Poles can be brought back if this is the way this team performs after all of these moves. And I'm sure Johnson might prefer a new GM over a Poles extension. I'm not advocating for Ben Johnson at this point. Hell, I'm not advocating for anyone. I already think no matter who they bring in here, something bad will happen anyway, even if it's considered the greatest hire by any team in the history of football. I admit I was excited about Bears playoff football this year. I admit I set lofty expectations. Whether they made it or not, I was fully expecting fun football. How can it not be fun with so many explosive offensive play makers on the roster? Right?! I think back to all of the highlights of DJ Moore breaking away for td's in a Carolina uniform. All the over the shoulder catches and no one catching him as he runs into the end zone. And now he's just a 5 yard quick screen receiver where you hope he isn't tackled immediately. The offense hasn't had an identity all season long. It's boring and defenses are playing to the weaknesses and taking advantage. I don't think there was a 10+ yard throw in the entire first half. To be fair, there weren't a whole lot of plays in the entire first half, but if a team is playing you tight, you gotta punish them with downfield plays. Dink and dunk is exactly what they want you to do. This is just not fun to watch.

Has Bolles fixed his penaltyitis. I'd try to bring back Shelton on a placeholder/reserve contract. Maybe offer a couple of years since injuries..... That would be nice work on the line. I think all of Jenkins, Bates and Borom have to go.
