    I disagree. Booing someone who makes fundamental mistakes that they should not be making is definitely grounds for booing.

    But it's not a bad game. It's several bad games in a row, over a month straight now. There's a difference. Everybody has a bad game now and then, but an ace can't suck continuously for so long (especially when he already had such a streak early in the season). Also directly following the signing of a contract that makes that pitcher a very rich man to be the ace of the staff.

    It's one thing to be emotional, it's another to let your emotions get to you. Unfort., his amped mental state often brings out the worst in him. He just lacks composure out there. Maybe he didn't actually see the game. I watched the game, and Carlos very clearly came undone. He was lights out in the first 3 innings, pulled a boneheaded move on the basepaths and proceeded to allow that to affect his performance on the mound. He actually lucked out in the 4th with that strike 'em out, throw 'em out double play. Why did Gonzalez just stand there on that pitch? Right down broadway with Jeff Kent running? He definitely needs to get his head right when he steps on that mound.

    Good times. Yea when he pointed at his head alot of people in the gamethread took it as "I know I sucked, my bad" but thats not what he meant at all. He said he doesnt deserve to be bood, and thought the Cubs had the best fans in baseball, but now he sees they only think of themselves. wow Just shut up and pitch Z, how bout you do that. I was one of them that gave him the benefit of the doubt. Yeah, we fans only think of ourselves. And we've been thinking of ourselves for 99 years. Fans have to go at least a full millenium to before they can be taken seriously. :roll:

    Mets are getting Pedro back now, though. Granted, he may not be able to go much more than 5 or 6 innings, but I bet they stretch him out before the playoffs to do some damage.

    Webb hasn't been all that impressive in his last 2 outings. It's an extreme rarity when Peavy is off his game.

    Yep. Zambrano has to get his act together. Without him at his best, this will be a very short postseason. If he doesnt get straightened out I dont think there will be a post season. Yeah, you quoted me before I edited my post. I pretty much said the same thing in my added sentence.

    His emotions were pretty high when he left the game. I'm sure he'll chill out.

    Murton has been pretty bad in RF. Floyd isn't much better. Why they didn't just go with Soriano in RF to start the season is mind boggling. Soriano has the arm to play the position. Soriano would be a long term fix in RF as well. With no real money to spend on a RFer this offseason, it makes zero sense to have a guy who would almost be a natural in RF like Soriano playing left and a bunch of LFers playing RF.

    Yep. Zambrano has to get his act together. Without him at his best, this will be a very short postseason. If the Cubs can even make the postseason without Zambrano at his best.

    So if he posted nothing, are you calling his non-post ignorant? Or were you calling him ignorant for posting nothing. Either way, ignore it if you don't like it. All you did was turn a harmless non post into another post that has absolutely zero to do with the game.

    Completely uncalled for. Don't do it again. Do what? I didnt attack him? Are you actually serious? Telling someone they are ignorant for no apparent reason is not welcome here. These game threads are out of control. I understand it's difficult to control emotions sometimes, but posts like yours do nothing for this site. If I had my choice, I would just lock up this game thread considering the behavior. It's absolutely embarrassing.

    The Pirates beat the Cards with the Pirates ACE on the mound The Astros beat the Crew with the Astros ACE on the mound... You'd think the Cubs would have a good chance of winning with their "ACE" on the mound against someone who's on the downhill side of his career...but no, our "ACE" sucks! This is a huge loss! Now that the Pirates and Stros can throw the rest of their crappy rotation out against the Cards and Crew...I don't think there's much hope for the rest of those series for Cub fans. And don't think it gets any easier for us...remember that guy Penny?? Yeah, he goes tomorrow.. I thought some rookie was going tomorrow in place of Wells?
