He seems to be dialed in now.

His curve ball has nearly a 40% whiff rate. He’s got the potential to be a very solid starter if he gets more comfortable with his change up.

He definitely needs to work on some secondary pitches. Seemed like the Marlins players were sitting fastball the entire first inning.

When season records and lifetime records are easily broken, you have a flawed history of QB's. I have no issue with the term "where QB's go to die". Sure, they haven't developed anyone, nor have they done much to secure the position with a premium talent. Cutler sits alone at the top of the standings of most Bears passing yards by 9000 yards. Prior to Cutler, 14,686 yards was the most by a Bears QB EVER! And that was from a time when passing was practically a second thought.

The pitcher needs to pitch 5 innings. Horton came in in the 2nd and left after 5. Because he didn't go 5 and the lead never changed, it became discretionary. Boog and JD were talking about it in the booth and JD said that it was more than likely they would likely give the W to Horton in this instance. There was a game earlier this year where Pressly got the win in a game he technically got a save. That one was discretionary as well.

It's been a running joke forever that Chicago is where QB's go to die. I can't blame either him or his dad for having those sentiments. The team was a running joke at the time given the rebuild and coaches who sucked. Not sure who would buy a book about this though. Good luck with that.

There isn't really a fast forward. There is a frame skip, which skips about 20-45 seconds per frame. I have to push the fast forward button about 5 or 6 times to get to the next inning. Weird. I will say this is on an Amazon Fire Stick. Haven't tried it on one of my smart tv's that actually has the Marquee app.

I learned a cool feature with Marquee's app. I paused the game after the first pitch because I had a damn HOA meeting to attend, I didn't want to leave my tv on with the screen frozen, so I turned it off. When I turned it back on, it was still in the pause mode, so I didn't miss a single pitch. What I do hate is their fast forward only moves a few frames at a time.

He was always going to be a project given his alma mater. He could still be something. On top of being from an Ivy League school, he also started off camp in his rookie year injured.

Braxton is a free agent at year's end. That, and he's recovering from a broken fibula that is supposed to limit him in training camp. Trapilo is probably designed to be his replacement in 2026, while possibly filling in for him this year.

I'm fine with Keller starting. No reason to throw Horton at Lindor, Soto and Alonso in his first ever inning in tthe bigs. If it's start the second inning vs. the Mets vs. wait until the next turn in the rotation to bring him up, I'll take the 2nd inning all day long. If this was a home game, it might be a different story. -
Turner can play all along the line. I'd even bet he gets more reps on the outside than on the inside. Inside, they have Jarrett, Dexter, Billings C. Williams, Pickens and Jonathan Ford. New DC. so we can expect some different looks than Eberflus' defense.

Staggering that Pressly has zero blown saves so far this year given the angst directed at him. Even more odd is that with all of the wins the Cubs have, he only has 4 saves. That's a lot of lopsided games. I'm not defending him, but I'm more concerned with 3b. Get Shaw back here now. -

What's fun about this line up is it doesn't matter if you are facing one of the toughest pitchers in the league (Skenes), or someone with a hot hand (Quintana's 1.14 ERA going into last night's game), they not only score, but they score early and often. Everyone in the dugout is having fun right now, so confidence is at an all time high. They just need to stay comfortable and think about getting Shaw back in one of the next two homestands and let him just be one of the guys. They need to know if he can be the guy at 3rd or if they will need to consider bringing in some outside help at the deadline. Bullpen has improved dramatically over what we saw in the first few weeks. Starters are actually going deep enough that the bullpen guys aren't getting much work. I've also decided Taillon reminds me of Rick Reuschel.
