  2. If you think Hinrich is "lead-footed," you don't know what you're talking about. He orchestrated the best fast-break offense in college basketball for two years. Scouting reports list his quickness, athleticism, and court awareness as strengths. You can argue whether or not the Bulls would be better without him. But to say he's some slow-footed, un-athletic throwback PG suggests you're not very familiar with his skill-set. Thank you. I have seen some god-awful scouting reports of Kirk Hinrich on this site. God-awful.
  3. I see what you did there. I should hope so, I was laying it on pretty thick.
  4. While this might be incredibly yawn worthy for England fans, it marks what I think to be a real turning point for US soccer. No longer are we playing friendlies at home against C level international squads; we are getting out and facing real, tough competition. The next four upcoming games for the US Men's National team are Poland in Poland, England at Wembley, Spain in Spain and Argentina (rumored to be the "top 5" International side that Sunil Gulati announced before the Mexico match) at home. Finally! REAL friendlies against REAL teams. No more of that Costa Rica/Latvia crap. This combined with the Confederations Cup in '09 are going to have us far more prepared for South Africa than we ever have been before any World Cup after doing nothing more than CONCACRAP qualifying.
  5. It's been officially announced. USA v England, better known as Beckham's 100th and last cap, will be held at Wembley on May 28.
  6. My bad, it was his 17th in all competitions. 10 goals in his last 10 games.
  7. ha ha...he might as well be holding up a sign that says "please come and get me, milan." Unfortunately I have a hunch it'll be our Chelsea. I hope I'm wrong. That Pepsi wasn't diet. it's amazing how far he's fallen in such a short time. leading up the '06 world cup, he was arguably the best in the world. now, we're both cringing just thinking about him on chelsea. i'm still in the camp that he can be a game changing player but i'm not sure he can do it in england, especially not with chelsea. Here's the thing about a Chelsea transfer. It would be way too much, but I'm not going to sweat Roman's cash because he obviously isn't. The thing I'm most worried about is an issue whether Ronny comes or not. That is Lamps. In my opinion, that midfield should be Michael Ballack's. Lampard has had a lot of problems deferring to other mids in the past and I don't want Ballack's game to suffer. -----------Anelka-------------Drogba--------------- ---------------------Ronaldinho---------------------- --J Cole--------------Ballack---------------Essien-- -----A Cole------Alex------Terry------Belletti------ ------------------------Cech-------------------------- That would be an insane lineup. Not for very long, but for a while it would light it up.
  8. Michael Bradley scores his 13th league goal and 16th overall against league leaders PSV Eindhoven today. I want to know what they do there that his dad isn't having US do to make him look so good. I think a lot of his poor performance Wednesday was due to constantly having to cover for Convey and Corrales on the left side, but his form in club play has been ridiculous.
  9. OH MY GOD. SHUT UP. It's not funny at all. Jesus Chrst I know everything Dusty did, I know all the quotes, I know what to expect, and on and on and on and on. You just keep posting the same stupid ass **** over and over and over again. Good lord, RedsZone is a great board if you don't want to hear this stuff. Otherwise, just chill out and stop antagonizing everything Vance posts.

  11. Sevilla-Barcelona on Gol TV. Ronaldinho drinking a freaking pepsi on the bench.
  12. You keepers are touchy. http://d.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/p/ap/20080207/capt.f754dac1510a43298e9a6be27b90c074.mexico_us_soccer_htt111.jpg
  13. Same time as Werder-Bayern on GOL TV. I'm torn. Torres is out, so the home unbeaten streak should continue.
  14. It would've been more amazing if it wasn't called a BS foul and Jozy scored.
  15. At this point I think even 80 would be optimistic.
  16. Thinking about Star Wars' world is depressing. Think about it. It looks all romantic and adventurous being able to see whole worlds and travel all over the galaxy, but that is a select, select few that get to do so. Others know that these other worlds are accessible but due to economic/class circumstance will never get to see beyond their little planet. I think if I were in that "world" and was not able to afford travel and adventure, I'd definitely join the armed forces or some sort of inter-planetary organization that could afford me the travel and adventure I'd crave.
  17. I know that's how it usually done, but the rule is that it should be onside. This is the big problem with the offside rule, too open to individual interpretation, however there is no good solution.
  18. The refs always, ALWAYS, call offsides if it's that close and never give the benefit of the doubt to the attacking player. It never happens. When in doubt, the flag goes up. And all that was onsides were Dempsey's feet. His body was offsides albeit not by much. As for the referee letting the play continue, maybe he didn't look at the linesman until much later and maybe he blew his whistle while it was going on but nobody heard it - something that happened more than a couple times last night because of the noise. The refs didn't blow that game last night. Sure, there were a couple calls that were questionable and I didn't agree with a couple of the yellow cards but they didn't cause us to tie, Drew Moor did. EDIT: And I didn't mean to say Clint sucked, just that he didn't do much. That's not so much on him but on the team's attack in general which was pretty disappointing as a whole. On the replay they showed at halftime, you could see that the ref never looked at the linesman during the entire clip. He even signaled that it was a goal, which means that it wasn't called until probably 15-20 seconds after the flag went up. And much like tie goes to the runner, too close to call offsides go to the attacking player. US is right.
  19. The only positive that can be taken is that not only was Jozy our man of the match, but he was man of the match against an elite defender who was marking him the whole time. He got the better of Marquez. I like the idea of Trying out Edu or DMB in the back. ----------------------Jozy------------------- --------Dempsey-------------Adu-------------- ---Feilhaber/whoever---Bradley---Donovan -----DMB---Boca---Gooch---Cherundolo----- -----------------timmy-------------------------
  20. Beasley and Cherundolo were sorely missed. Clark is not a National team caliber midfielder with all the players we have. Altidore is class. Dempsey scored, we actually won this game 3-2.
  21. Like I said earlier; vagina.
  22. Vera nice, Boca.
  23. Here comes Gio. edit - not yet.
  24. Should have moved Deuce back and subbed out Convey. Should have brought Benny in for Clark too.
