  1. Prayers for the homies hammies stay strong
  2. Really struggling to narrow my World Cup home & away jersey purchase from three to two. McKennie Musah Reyna
  3. I think Lewandowski is a good signing. I don't get Raphinha - they seem to sign people just to sign people some times though I guess it's hard to trust Fati to be healthy. They’re both perfectly fine signings, but to give away future broadcast rights fee revenues to get them is absurd. You’re giving away money you will absolutely need in the future, all to finish second or third? They need to rebuild or they’ll find themselves in serious serious trouble that will end in them losing the community ownership and governance when they’re forced to sell to Disney or some horsefeathers. They’re doing what are essentially payday loans to delay the inevitable rather than just rebuilding for a few years.
  4. It’s crazy that we’re watching Barca destroy themselves in real time just to sign horsefeathering mid wingers and an old striker.
  5. Lots of money
  6. lol don’t f it up, boys. Leedsmerica. I’m all in. Sign Paxten too. Sign Walker Zimmerman. Let’s be legends. Not cheap!
  7. dudes are back in the Olympics. Made it look easy too. Last time ended after a terrible Michael orozco fizcal red card in the knockout round. By far the biggest difference between now and then is that every player on our youth teams have professional first touches now rather than like two guys and then 9 really good athletes with bricks for feet.
  8. I really hope the Puilisic-Juve deal works out. Much slower league, they are always on the attack, and I think he'll hold up better physically over the course of a season. A Vlahovic-Chiesa-Pulisic attack would do numbers. I think it's a great fit heading into the World Cup. His worst option, IMO, would be taking a step down in the PL to a team like West Ham or Everton that isn't attacking against top teams, doesn't give him the opportunities to attack space with the ball in the final third, and he'll be the focal point of the opposing defense to stop/bully. Plus, I'm all about efficiency with my Yanks Abroad weekend viewing. If I can knock out CP and Wes in one game? Perfect. I also like how CBS covers Serie A.
  9. I think happy Bale playing when he feels like it, golfing every day, and trying to stay fit for the cup is still going to be incredible. And as good as Rossi was, no one has ever been better than peak Vela. I don’t know what’s going to happen, but it’s going to interesting and weird. And when the Sounders upset them again, it will be funny.
  10. Bale & Chiellini taking discounts to play for Steve Cherundolo. Or live in LA. One of the two.
  11. Mixed feelings for me as this is the right move but also gives him an edge over my preferred starter, MT.
  12. If pepi was playing in the Canada game, he would’ve scored 10. It’s funny how we have a ton of exciting 8’s and wingers but no strikers even at the youth level
  13. Yes and if you think me being aware of the fact that South Americans in particular love coming to Miami for a multitude of cultural and geographic reasons vaguely racist, I think you’re vaguely clueless about Miami. I live in Florida. I attend sporting events at hard rock stadium. Traffic is Armageddon on a normal day because our infrastructure is a joke. During F1 and the super bowl you’re not going anywhere all week. As for the South American thing, I guess maybe try to get to know more Latinos? Miami is America’s Latin Capitol. ok, I'll work on it. -- Juan I am legit lol'ing in my office at this ultimate debate ender. Seriously though, if a south american team gets drawn into Miami, it's going to be (fun! positive!) bedlam.
  14. Is Miami really worse for traffic than other places? And what's with the vaguely racist dig at South Americans? Yes and if you think me being aware of the fact that South Americans in particular love coming to Miami for a multitude of cultural and geographic reasons vaguely racist, I think you’re vaguely clueless about Miami. I live in Florida. I attend sporting events at hard rock stadium. Traffic is Armageddon on a normal day because our infrastructure is a joke. 15. Canada is unraveling. Fighting with their fed. Skipping warm up games. Now their players are intimidating refs off the field and Herdman is complaining about CONCACAF conditions after they made their opponents play in the Arctic circle on turf during qualifying. You can take the colony out of the UK, but you can’t take the England out of their souls. They aren’t getting out of their group.
  16. My condolences to the unfortunate teams that have to play a summer World Cup game in Miami. I will not be attending due to holy horsefeathers that is going to be a mess. The traffic is inhumane already. If a South American team draws there, they might as well declare a state of emergency for broward and dade.
  17. This rocks.
  18. Holy smokes golazo from ESL Horvath napping
  19. This field is a joke
  20. I was hoping for an over confident England. Burning tire fire England will be fun too, I guess.
  21. This Apple TV deal is a huge overpay, so MLS is getting full benefits from the streaming content wars, and it lines up perfectly with the league leveraging a home World Cup and a hopefully deep run by the MNT to finally take off the single-entity shackles. New stadiums in Boston, Chicago, Miami, etc, as well. I don’t know if they’ll pull it off, but everything is now in place for the league to take a huge leap to hit their goal of being right there with the Eridivisie, Portugal, Brazil in that third tier of global leagues by 2026.
  22. Gio remains the missing piece of the formula. If he’s healthy, and they never try Weah at center forward, Aaronson is the odd winger out. Moving him inside makes more sense to me than moving Gio inside, but that’s an option too. Everyone is impressed with LDLT’s ball control this window, but I can’t get past the quality of competition and defensive tactics he’s facing in order to even put him in the same conversation with Musah. Yunus is so much faster and stronger, which will matter a lot against both superior talent and athletic counter attacking teams. To me, LDLT is a perfect change of pace to break down bunkering opponents, but I don’t think we will see any of those in Qatar. I suspect MMA starts every game, and Musah’s positioning will depend on tactics, alternating between a double pivot to support Adams (which is what they’ve done this window) and operating slightly further up against counter teams like wales & Iran. Aaronson will be the first sub for either the box to box MF or the wing. Not getting the chance to fully integrate and build around Gio has really been a problem when it comes to understanding our best lineup and shape.
