I think you guys need to see how the increased peak intensity workload during a pro season plays out before you make any assumptions. Maybe I’m an idiot for thinking a rest recovery window before & after is better for players, but I don’t think so. But you’re right that Reece James was just me hopping on prematurely because I wanted to grind my axe. I didn’t make the point well. There are just so many players who are rushing back from early season injuries to make the cup and the intensity if the prep and game load is totally different from any other season. It’s going to take a big toll in the second half of the club calendar. Why are we doing it? For very bad reasons.

I literally was just thinking about this. Micah Richards is the true heir to Charles Barkley. Draymond ain’t it. Titi is the perfect straight man. Carragher is Kenny Smith. A great middle ground. And Kate Abdo is a hot Ernie Johnson. It’s incredible TV. Their producers have done a really good job and deserve a ton of credit because their USMNT team is also very very good and fun. Gooch is kind of meh and Chuck D sometimes is a little too try hard, but they’re by far the best USMNT studio show ever. Deuce is obviously perfect. Shout out to CBS.

I’m not an owner/management guy, but this seems to be a recurring dynamic across all major sports where “max players” to use the NBA vernacular get too much organizational control.

Yep. This has been the Gregg norm. We just have to hope we summon the results when it matters like we did in nations league and the gold cup. Beating Mexico in two finals has overshadowed the fact that his teams have been clunky in the attack since day one and it hasn’t really progressed much from there. One thing is for sure, either yunus and miles Robinson are way better than we think (and I think they are very good), or this is just a typical Gregg stretch. Can’t wait for the next cycle already. I might be going joker mode for this World Cup and just root for max chaos for my team.

Also, Gregg loves to intentionally underprepare for friendlies to make the players “uncomfortable” while giving no F’s about how uncomfortable it makes fans. Btw, it’s starting to sink in for me how much I associate the World Cup with summer and how less special this one feels because of the calendar and the soulless host country.

Nah bro Gio’s injuries were just because he was playing elite sport during a late puberty growth spurt. Pull the trigger. He’ll never get injured again. To all the people who think the home Jersey is better, I’d ask you how you think that will look in a regular outfit with like jeans or something. TJ Maxx ass jersey.

Having a mom in her 60’s who is predictably obsessed with CBS prime time programming has really paid off for me. I have officially purchased a Musah away jersey for the World Cup. The slightly less boring option. I have plenty of old home white jerseys from better designs anyway.
