this is interesting using a mid to create width. it was super noticeable. The effect seemed to engage Dest upfield but Weah seemed to have less room to operate. Were they doing the same on the other side? No. It was a totally one-sided overload. Same exact way juventus uses him when they’re actually cooking. He creates chaos in the half spaces by being so effectively unconventional and unlike at Juve, he has a world class ground covering defensive midfield anchor behind him, giving him freedom to improvise.
