Kind of tough to credit Danielle Reyna for the best intentions when Claudio let an accused abuser of women return to Austin FC after a two week suspension. Where was this energy last spring for Cecilio Dominguez? This is all selfish and petty as hell. You’re treating the World Cup like it’s a weekend youth club tournament and I don’t think that would have been the case if the coach in question didn’t have such a long personal history with them. They ain’t calling the Dortmund brass if Edin Terzic criticizes Gio in public. It’s the over-familiarity of having three former teammates running the national team. Crazy sense of entitlement. They also might have disrupted GGG’s best shot at a European club job, which is a profound setback for his career & earning potential.

This sucks because I don’t want Gio to become a toxic figure in the national team. Also, this is yet another reason why they should hire someone with no prior connections to us soccer. Too much institutional entitlement among the old guard/players.

Haaland actually seems like a likable jock. For now, I like rooting for him because he’s a living cheat code and it’s fun to watch people scheme to stop him and fail every time. He’s got the good charismatic arrogance, not the aloof Ronaldo arrogance.

I like the old MLS shoot out format. I like the idea of doing them before kick off so everyone knows what the result will be in the event of a tie before hand. They can also keep the current format. Idc. I have purchased two season tix for inter Miami. Schedule drops tomorrow. Hopefully Messi isn’t convinced to stay by the Qataris at PSG, because I am v excited.
