  1. 4 years ago they were the frontline . . . For sure! And btw, the level of that supporting cast at any given moment is a perfect litmus test for the overall health of the game in our country. It’s why I love & care about MLS so much. Dest out minimum 3 weeks. Snake bitten European season but great to see Christian closing strong.
  2. https://twitter.com/lgbtqfc/status/1504935207878549506?s=21 Yet another reason the 2026 World Cup is going to be sick
  3. I have mixed feelings about how, no matter what happens, the MNT needs MLS to deliver a supporting case that gets thrust into the most crucial moments.
  4. We got serge. I guess John brooks is excommunicated.
  5. ill let you ruminate on this one for a minute What’s to think about? They’ll let anyone buy a team. Doesn’t matter if they’re kind of racist or murder people. All that matters is if you have the money. His (correct) point is that with such a deeply influential muslim ownership and corporate sponsor contingent in the PL, public Islamophobes will not be welcomed by the other owners and could easily hurt their bid.
  6. Do not horsefeathers with the middle eastern money tap. I’m glad Christian scored because that literal bus ride home would’ve sucked after an l
  7. Nice acute finish by our future striker
  8. I think Balogun is the best of that bunch.m, but we’re definitely running out of time for someone to hit. I’m also super intrigued to see what happens with Pefok. That dude is productive. He’s going to get a move to a better level. I feel like he has the highest floor of anyone right now.
  9. https://www.football.london/arsenal-fc/news/balogun-united-states-arsenal-national-23284177 We love it, don’t we folks?
  10. ESPN really got out of the USMNT business, huh? It’s a shame because their production was really top notch.
  11. Their owners are American, which absolutely hurt Bob Bradley at Swansea more than it helped because of how the fans reacted to that much American influence, but Jesse is a different coach with a much different rep. He also has a much more open and lighter touch with players and the media than Bob. He's much more respected in Europe than Bob was because of his time in the RB system and his success in Austria. He's about to get his best players back from injury in the next 10 days according to reports. I also think the Brendan Aaronson interest from Leeds has a lot to do with Jesse because Aaronson's original transfer to Salzburg had a lot to do with Jesse. If you add up the owners being American and the fact that they already want to bet big on one of Jesse's "guys" in Brendan, if he doesn't succeed here, he's probably just not good enough. He won't find a better big time opportunity than the two he's already gotten at Leipzig and now Leeds. It's put up or shut up time for Jesse Marsch.
  12. It’s high risk, high reward. I think there’s enough talent and systemic discipline to apply the high press, shore up the defensive buy-in, and play some good soccer before the relegation fight is over.
  13. Acosta has also played well against Mexico. It’s just his kind of CONCACAF style of play that he’s very comfortable with. Pulisic-Mount-Havertz are doing some beautiful soccer, but they just can’t finish. Liverpool are getting rolled, even with some great moments of their own. Carabao final is fun. TAA is getting smoked to the filter.
  14. I think that being a USMNT fan is bad, objectively. Somewhere, a big soccer doofus found a monkeys paw, because we keep getting what we want (world class players at mega clubs, winning the champions league, etc) and yet we become more miserable than ever. It’s never fun for more than two weeks at a time.
  15. Christian scores, Weston goes off with an injury.
  16. It's 85 where I am, so I am missing out on some of the 2 symmetry.
  17. Happy Tim Weah day. Today, 2/22/22, is his 22nd birthday and he wears #22 for his club team.
  18. At least Aaronson is balling and Xavi finally realized he shouldn’t intentionally alienate every talented young player on his roster.
  19. Gio just walked off the field crying. Appears his injury was aggravated. Terrible terrible season for him. Such a huge bummer.
  20. Probably not, but I like the precedent that the US spends. Makes it more attractive. Going to be really interesting to see what happens if they play well at the World Cup, because 2026 is a golden ticket for whoever is in that job.
  21. I love how far American soccer media accounts will stretch to get engagement via hype. Aaronson played very well, but if he was a tad sharper, they would’ve won.
  22. Gio back!!
