On any given day when both the Cubs and Brewers play there are four possible outcomes. Cubs win Brewers lose - Good for the Cubs Cubs Win Brewers Win - not bad for the cubs because it ticks off one more game the Brewers can't use to catch up Cubs lose Brewers lose - also not bad for the cubs because it ticks off one more game the Brewers can't use to catch up Cubs lose Brewers win - Bad for the cubs So out of 4 possible outcomes on any given day, three of the four possible outcomes are good for the cubs. :good:
BTW - I just heard this on WGN radio. David Kaplan is reporting a funny story about Piniella and Sinatro. Apparently they decided to drive to Cinnci today instead of taking the plane. So Piniella googled the directions gave them to Sinatro asked him to drive and promptly fell asleep. When he woke up they were about 90 miles outside Cleveland....not Cinci! When Kap first reported the story (about 4:30 central time) they had just arrived at the ball park. As I understand it, Sinatro was just following the directions Piniella gave him. I picture an old white guy version of Oprah and Gayle driving across America.
Every year there are games you win that you should have lost and games you lose that you should have won. Guess which one this is for the Cubs...so far. Also, to whoever said that if the Cubs played the end of the season 120 times they would miss the playoffs 1 time: what did your little magic number crunching box say were the chances that the Cubs would lose this game against the Nats?
According to Lou P in the postgame. When asked about it Lou said he was "ok but not available". Later he said Woody's "back was bothering him and we'll see {how he feels tomorrow}". GENTLEMEN START YOUR PANIC!!!
Jim-Jim? Got a problem with a pet name for my guy? So you are stickin' with that? Well, actually, I had South Park in my head, when Jimmy calls Timmy "Tim Tim." So it was adaptation of that. That makes it better?
