  1. The praying for Prior and Miller to be healthy by April will begin. that hasn't already started? yea i've been doin the prayer thing for prior since 2004
  2. well my production can be seen in my work done for school and considering finals are next week and my productivity is at about a -10...i'd say the cubs better sign someone i like to make it a worthwhile waste of time
  3. My guess is Lofton. my guess as well and for some reason i kinda want it to happen, guess i still got a soft spot from when kenny was good and didnt get hurt when i was little
  4. Use of past tense for the race for Schmidt and Meche? good point...i think you can read it either way though like they are still in the race at press time
  5. looks like lilly will happen (nothing new) and floyd will happen by the end of the month http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/cs-061205cubs,1,1563825.story?coll=cs-home-headlines
  6. Why on earth would you want that? You, my friend, are crazy. haha no joke...but serious...enough is enough
  7. this whole winter meetings business is killing me...i want something to happen for the cubs and i want it to involve schmidt signing with them.
  8. I'd be willing to bet that happens everywhere, other teams just dont make a spectacle of it like Baker did. i totally agree...baker was always brining it to the forefront...he was more worried about being booed and his boys being booed than winning games
  9. the only problem with lugo is the wait until izzy is gone...i know everyone has said this already, but im just at my point i need to vent...izzy needs to go and NOW...but i really like the idea of lofton part deux, i didn't want him to leave in the first place. Also, someone earlier said that Lilly plus adding another pitcher of equal or better talent is a good idea and i agree...lilly won't be that bad of a pickup if this is the case, but if it comes down to signing meche along wit him....puke...and if you can't get anything good for jacque JH then don't trade him please
  10. i'm all for bringing back lofton...i didn't want him to leave in the first place, but it does concern me about lack of power from the left side of the plate...but if you get floyd for the bench at least that will be there when ya need it
  11. It's Bruce Miles, and all the other sites got their information from the San Fransisco Chronicle. They probably got their info from Schmidt's agent, which Bruce said was probably a false rumor that the agent thought up. I doubt that SI.com and ESPN would have it as such big news if there was only a blurb about it in the San Francisco Chronicle. Rotoworld, yes, but not SI or ESPN. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/baseball/mlb/11/28/schmidt.cubs/index.html Thats from the main baseball page from a reporter over at SI.com Yea I wasn't aware Bruce Miles' word was absolute truth these days. i wasn't aware john heyman's word was the absolute truth these days. I'm going to violate my own edict here and jump in on this thread one more, and last, time. To those who have PM'ed, I've tried to respond (in a nice way, of course), but I'm having trouble getting my messages through, and I've asked the Admin. for some help. Nobody is the ultimate authority here. The Cubs may indeed land Schmidt eventually. That's not the issue here. All I said, and it's been corroborated by two different radio reports, is that the current information about an alleged offer to Schmidt, which was put out by national outlets, is not accurate at this moment to the best of my knowledge. See you on other threads. i understood this whole thing the first time, but i got 5 bucks someone will still not get it and say something now...welp either way i hope the report of an offer is true, but i could see it not being too
  12. great now you guys ran bruce outta the thread...
  13. (raises eyebrow ala "The Rock") lube that hot poker up real nice...turn that s******h sideways and stick it straight up your candy a**, if you smell what the rock is cooking
  14. 1. AROD (even tho i don't think he will be avail. but who knows) 2. Barry Zito or Jason Schmidt (pref. Zito) 3. Andruw Jones 4. J.D. Drew 5. Carlos Lee
  15. if it weren't for prior makin his season debut then i'd say go tigers just to pad the al central lead....well, actually it doesn't matter cuz the tigers will win anyways...but hey see my sig for the new wave of simulated games
  16. nothing like stoney and the cubs back together again...well kinda... here's to young marshall gettin us (yes i said us) a series win as the cubs head to cinci thursday.... GO CUBS GO
  17. GRIFFEY YOU STUD...nice job izzy  damn right the cubs need to lead over the yanks/sawx
  18. agreed...if the cubs can just take every series on this roadtrip i would be so happy! but we'll see GO CUBS
  19. yea but i'm concerned if he does play the outfield...even though he wasn't credited for any errors he took horrible paths to the ball that cost the yankees extra bases more than a couple times
