  1. This is why adding another high-end relief pitcher wouldn't be bad at all.
  2. Floyd scores from 2nd on a PB/WP. Yup, you win. all the way from 2nd? where did the ball go? Skokie?
  3. Molina was flustered by being that close to the greatness that is Jason Kendall.
  4. Apparently, Jacque Jones' 2008 salary is somehow getting in the way. Unclear how.
  5. Is there a limit to the number of players a team can have on the 60-day DL at any one time?
  6. Essentially irrelevant. If a 25 year old with Fox's skill set can't make it by age 28, he's garbage anyway. By the way, nice early birthday present for Jake-a-roo!
  7. Almost certainly the case. Of course, there needs to be a spot opened on the 40-man for him. Could this finally be the merciful killing off of Brian Dopirak?
  8. It is in my opinion. I think Gallagher is going to be really solid and I'd rather hang on to him. That said, take out Soto or Murton from your deal and I wouldn't be too upset. Petrick is the one of those four that I would be most upset to see go.
  9. Personally, I wanted Bowen to be gone. That guy makes Todd Hundley look like he's got a quick bat.
  10. Warning - small sample sizes! Koyie Hill's season line is: .179/.250/.328/.578 His BABIP is .182. His BABIP in 2005 was .333 and in 2004 was .276. If he had six more singles this season (no credit for any additional extra base hits), his BABIP would be .291, and his line would be: .269/.329/.418/.747 I hope they give him some time to possibly grow into the kind of moderately useful hitter his minor league numbers once suggested he might be.
  11. Last night, Jose Molina doubled over BJ Upton's head and was thrown out trying to stretch it into a triple. The announcers were laughing, saying that he was out only because he's so much faster than his brother Benji. They surmised that Benji is so slow the thought of third base would never have entered his mind.
  12. We should add another reliever if for no other reason than to make sure Marmol's arm doesn't fall off.
  13. Hear me, Barry! Fear the dominating LHP of the Cubs!
  14. Speaking of Eyre... Eyre for Greinke - our chemically altered brain for yours!
  15. That must be one highly sensitive gauge they are using.
  16. Bruce, around baseball, is Michael Barrett generally considered to be "baseball dumb" or to have "poor baseball instincts" or however you want to phrase it?
  17. Koyie Hill is not going back down yet. He's in the starting lineup tonight.
  18. i'll bet they got confused and sent Gallagher back down That's good comedy, but I think the thing they could do that is not entirely out of the realm of possibility and would get everyone rather upset is to option Soto.
