  1. Well, he has little value now, what with his self-proclaimed shoulder problems and all.
  2. Doesn't selecting him in the Rule 5 draft mean he has to be kept on the 25-man roster for the entire following season? Or does that depend on which minor league roster he's put in the off-season? Yes, that's what it means. No, it doesn't depend on that. That affects the minor league phase of the Rule 5 draft. I agree.
  3. As long as Jim Hendry is still a member of baseball's GM fraternity, Krivsky is not the worst.
  4. The Cubs will probably hire Kent Mercker to a personal services contract to place that call.
  5. Get ready for a long, long losing streak. Below .500 before the end of August? In the cellar by season's end?
  6. "Trying" is for elementary school children. A MLB GM needs to get the job done. Time and again, the awful Jim Hendry has failed to do so.
  7. Floyd is basically Juan Pierre, but he's not fast and he takes a couple more walks. Cliff Floyd is a corner outfielder who offers absolutely nothing but his bat and he has a .386 slugging percentage!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! To put that into perspective, Ryan Theriot is slugging .369!!!
  8. All things considered, Cliff Floyd is currently one of the worst players in baseball.
  9. That's exactly what this team does. It yanks wood.
  10. We really need Lee to step it up right now with Soriano out. What with him being our best player. Lee? Our best player? LOL!
  11. In other news, Jim Hendry reports that the cheese enchiladas at Pappasito's are "to die for". When asked about possibly obtaining some help for his struggling team, Hendry said, "Grind, baby, grind!"
  12. He really does look like his brother, in more ways than one.
  13. 2 runs? You're a greedy little thing, aren't you?
  14. The Cubs are being completely overmatched, dominated, and utterly humiliated by Woody Williams. Let us pause momentarily to consider the magnitude of this statement.
  15. Cliff Floyd and Jacque Jones should be released immediately. Furthermore, a court order should be obtained to keep them far, far away from Wrigley Field.
  16. Ohman is under contract for next season at $1.6 million. More Hendry nonsense.
  17. Cherry's probably the right fit, but he can't be recalled yet.
  18. Woody Williams is tied for the major league lead for HR allowed. Chances of Cubs hitting a HR tonight = 0.00000000000000000000000001%
  19. At this point, Lou might as well pull the lineup out of a fedora.
  20. I don't know for sure, but I would imagine it's the records at the completion of all of the previous day's games.
  21. so, it doesn't go from worst to first and then flip leagues? ah...i want a concrete explanation on this process... so...tampa releases jonny gomes...he has to make it all the way through the AL before the NL has any shot at him? Yes, it does go from worst to first and then flip leagues, but only in terms of determining which is the winning claim. Like I said, someone from MLB doesn't call Tampa Bay and say "You want this dude?", wait for an answer, and then move on to the next team. Yes, if Tampa Bay places Jonny Gomes on waivers, any claim placed on him by an AL team supercedes a claim placed on him by the Cubs.
