The Cubs need to check in on Joe Blanton's availability, using some combination of Marshall, Murton, and prospects as bait. They also need to see how the Marlins feel about moving Jeremy Hermida, for a package centered around Pie.
i was telling my buddy last night that someone should just call up ned yost and tell him there has been a mistake...the cubs really didn't win the division...no one knows why there are playing in the playoffs...get your team together and take over your rightful place... Yost would immediately get a reliever up, just from instinct.
He should probably start with his own (ass). True, but most of the blame, in my opinion, still has to go on Soriano/Lee/Ramirez. Actually, most of the blame should be placed on Ted Lilly.
I don't think it's a slam dunk, but I'd rather face Francis than Hamels and Rollins-Utley-Howard is scarier than the Rockies offense. Also, we'd have home field.
This may have been touched on earlier in the thread, but we all owe Eric Patterson a debt of gratitude for being such a dope and allowing us to recall Sam Fuld.
The Marlins supposedly love (or at least used to love) Felix Pie. I would like to see Hendry try to initiate talks on a trade centering around Pie and Jeremy Hermida.
