  1. Please allow me to quote Cosmo Kramer: "I have many associates."
  2. He'd be quite a bit worse. Of course, Floyd is so awful offensively that it might actually be worth it.
  3. Jason Marquis is what he is - a relatively decent, basically average pitcher. Somewhere north of Mark Clark and south of Kevin Tapani.
  4. Lefty Gomez is an option over Luis Tiant in the Latino rotation. El Presidente also, but I'd probably take Tiant over him.
  5. I think it's foolish to expect anything of Pagan before September 1st and probably unwise to plan on him for anything at all the remainder of the season.
  6. Zero chance a contending team puts Scott Moore at 3B down the stretch. Not 0.0000000000000000000000001% chance. Zero chance.
  7. The only way something happens with Blake is if the Indians get a replacement 3B in the deal. I can't see the Cubs trading DeRosa in such a deal - what would be the point? Not a lot of quality 3B are going to pass through the waiver process.
  8. As long as the player traded for him is of little to no value, he is used correctly, and he is not brought back next season, he might help win a game here or there, as bad baseball players often do. It's probably not worth the bother.
  9. I'm not sure about that, but I certainly hope that, if he's brought in, it's to fill that role. Probably insurance to cover a prolonged Pagan absence. Podsednik in, Patterson out, I would assume. Who leaves when Ward comes back? That would be an excellent opportunity to give Floyd a gold watch and thank him for his contributions, such as they have been. At a minimum, place him on the DL with a sore back from violently swinging and missing so much.
  10. I would take him if it meant getting Cliff Floyd as far away from this organization as possible.
  11. If Rick Ankiel were traded to the Cubs today, would he immediately become our best hitting outfielder?
  12. This would probably be the case if we had won that game. Same with Sammy's game tying 9th inning 2 out HR in game 1. Sammy's HR in that game was one of the most exciting sports moments of my life. Truly amazing.
  13. You know what this means? More Cliff Floyd, baby!
  14. That effectively ends the season.
  15. While Stewart doesn't have the kind of power that we really need, I believe Oakland is a pretty tough place to hit. If he winds up taking Murton's place in the non-Soriano outfield, I don't much see the point, but if he were used in place of Clifford, then I think it may be worth it.
  16. Ill bet you a years worth of premium that doesnt happen, we have to luck into at least 1 win No thanks. Contrary to popular belief, I'd rather not root against them.
  17. Are you kidding? The Cubs have a terrible roster and he has us 3 games over .500. The man should be immediately inducted into the Hall of Fame.
  18. Cubs get swept by the Rockies. Record as of Sunday night: 58-59.
  19. Why would Hendry add anyone? We're competitive within the division.
