    Yea, I heard that, too. A lot of times reporters don't realize just how absurd and stupid what they're reporting is. I'll believe it when I see it. Even Hendry isn't that incompetent. No?

    I doubt many of us would care if Pawelek was traded for Linebrink. you'd be 100% wrong. I would be ecstatic if we had traded Pawelek for Linebrink. Two months of a decent relief pitcher and one, possibly two, high draft choices for Pawelek? I would do a dance.

    I would be all over this deal. I do like Gallagher, but he is replaceable and Moore looks like a AAAA player. Hoffpair is injured, but I don't think he had much of a future with the Cubs. I'm not sure the Pirates are willing to trade Nady because they're starting to build a pretty stable and young team. Nady will probably get $4+ next season in arbitration, so I can see the Pirates being willing to trade him. Also, if they get Gallagher, they'd probably trade one of their young pitchers like Snell for a hitter. Maybe for Hawpe to replace Nady or, if they were lucky, for Saltalamacchia and they could put Doumit in RF full-time.

    good call. That really gets under your skin, doesn't it. Sorry dude, I say what I feel. It was looking real bad at the time. So I was wrong, I'm a big boy I can take it. Can you? Clearly it's your skin, I'm getting under. I'm happy our team won. And contrary to earlier this year, even if we're losing by one in the 8th, I think we're gonna win. Think what you want, I just thought it was a good call. Never underestimate the overwhelming power of good, solid pessimism among the fan base of a professional sports franchise.

    What exactly do we have to do to stop this talk? You'd think winning 27 out of our last 40 would be good enough. It's a game thread, what do you care? You're telling me what to post now? Get over yourself. Do what you want, I'm not telling you anything. I'm wondering what it will take for it to stop. The Cubs to play better. A World Championship.
