  1. Yep, which is why I said I'd prefer Wright over Noah above. I was just pointing out that Wright is not more athletic than Noah, and even if he develops into a better athlete, Noah is still very athletic for his size.
  2. Why do you think Corey Brewer will be a bust? Aside from being athletic, does he strike you as being a great offensive player? He's not a great shooter, he's not a great defender. Brewer has lockdown-defender potential. He's certainly known for his defense. I like Brewer but I think Thabo will fulfill that role for the Bulls.
  3. How so? Noah's athletic and his offensive game lacks polish. He isn't athletic as guys like Wright, or Yi. His offensive game may lack polish, but he is NBA ready in terms of Defense and rebounding. Yi declined the combine so we don't have numbers for him, but Noah tested out higher than Wright ranking 43rd overall versus 61st overall for Brandon. Columns in order are PLAYER, NO STEP VERTICAL, MAX VERTICAL, BENCH PRESS, LANE AGILITY, 3/4 CRT SPRINT, OVERALL RANK Joakim Noah 32.5 37.5 12 11.79 3.47 43 Brandan Wright 30.5 35.5 2 11.76 3.31 61

  5. Ford's most recent mock: Oden Durant Horford Conley Yi Green Brewer Wright Noah Thorton I'm also a Noah fan at 9. I don't want him over Wright. I do prefer him over Hawes and Yi.
  6. Stupid Heat scouts.
  7. There are misses in any system, and it could turn out to be correct about Fazekas too. Yi also falls outside the system.
  8. Lots of room for improvement for Brandan, no doubt. But he'd be a steal at 9 and I like him more than Julian -- both in terms of fit for the Bulls and ceiling. Hollinger put together a college prospect ranking system recently. Good read (it's free!) and interesting tool. It's high on Brandan Wright.
  9. He's one of them. Durant and Oden are two others. It's not uncommon. Thomas didn't work out against anyone last year.
  10. Can't see the Bobcats passing on him at 8 if he's still there. I like Draft Express' mock better with the Bulls taking Brandan Wright.
  11. Brown is an unrestricted free agent. If he doesn't retire, I suspect he's going to be looking for a ring. Can't see him agreeing to go to Minn, or any other non-contender other than his home town team (New Orleans), no matter what the salary. PJ's dollar value is infinitely higher in a potential sign and trade than on the open market. he might sign for vet minimum for a team. in a sign and trade, he could make a significant amount more than that. Understood. I even addressed salary in my previous comment. Again, he's 38; he's made his money; he does not have a ring; I suspect he has higher priorities.

  13. They would have to sign and trade Nocioni. The Bulls are over the salary cap but under the luxury tax threshold.
  14. The Bulls would need to clear ~$17M of cap space to take back Kobe's 19.5M salary.
  15. -Gordon, TT, Duhon and ninth pick isn't close to enough salary for Kobe. It's a shade under $14M and Kobe's due to make $19.5M next year before his trade kicker takes effect -We don't know whom the 4th team is giving up. -LA can't expect to trade Kobe and get better. That said, they'd have to be ecstatic to be getting the big ticket back.
  16. Bobcats need size in the backcourt. I suspect he's taken at 8 if he gets past Boston at 5. Nope, but it seems unlikely he'd get past Milwaukee at 6.
  17. Version 4.0 of Ford's mock draft is up. His top 10: Oden Durant Horford Conley Brewer B. Wright J. Green Noah Yi Hawes I'm leery of Yi. I hope the Bulls don't take him over Hawes if both end up being available at 9.
  18. I'd rather keep Thomas than Hinrich.
  19. Kobe is also an solid defender, which is why I'd be willing to include Hinrich in a package for him. True, but I'd rather part with Gordon. Ha ha, of course. Hinrich is better than Gordon. I do think you (and the Bulls) might be in luck in this case. Gordon's scoring, which will be needed to "replace" Kobe's, will make him very attractive and maybe moreso than Hinrich. This is in the minds of NBA GM's, of which Kupchak is a poor one. Also in the minds of the stats heads: 18.31 PER - Gordon 17.09 PER - Hinrich Ben's two years younger too. You could argue Kirk's a better fit with Kobe, but I think Ben's range would be a great compliment to Bryant's driving ability. Either way, I'd rather hold on to Gordon in most other instances.
  20. Kobe is also an solid defender, which is why I'd be willing to include Hinrich in a package for him.
  21. Like I said, I'm all for a Kobe to Chicago trade that's clearly a win for the Bulls. Would you do something like I suggested here? I would not do Gordon, Deng, lottery this year, and first rounder next year. Make it Hinrich and Thomas instead and I'd probably bite. I don't think that's enough.
  22. How much better is that team than the current Lakers team? A lot would depend on Thomas' development. The window for winning it all would certainly shrink.
  23. Like I said, I'm all for a Kobe to Chicago trade that's clearly a win for the Bulls.
  24. I think Deng has to be part of the package as far as LA is concerned. I also don't see PJ as a willing sign and trade participant. You're not the first to suggest it, and maybe the money would talk. My gut says he either resigns with the Hornets or retires.
