  1. David Thorpe (ESPN writer; NBA player trainer) is very high on Noah. Which players taken after Noah are said to have star potential?
  2. This isn't the NFL. Multiple picks in the lower half of the first round are worth significantly less than a top ten pick. NBA teams rarely trade down more than a couple of slots. You can't think of a player you would rather have had at nine than Noah? I would have gambled on Wright probably. For me it comes down I feel that Noah will not make us a better team next year, in my opinion. The Bulls have to do something in free agency or trades now, or we will enter the season with the same team basically as last year. You think Julian Wright is closer to making an impact than Noah is next year? I can't see it. Same is true for Hawes. If your focus is on immediate impact and fit, Noah's the easy pick at 9.
  3. Law? On the Bulls? No thanks. I like our undersized combo guard better. I would've been fine with Julian Wright, but I prefer Noah.

  5. Not making a trade isn't blowing this draft. The Bulls will need to include either Nocioni or Brown (very unlikely) in a sign and trade to make any significant deal, and that can't happen until July 1. Seems a little early to me to declare the offseason over. Who did you want the Bulls to select at 9 from those still on the board?
  6. Count on him being drafted in the first. Bad call. Zing.
  7. They might release Francis. His expiring contract will provide lots of cap space when it comes time to extend Roy and Aldridge.
  8. Who's the other someone? The Bulls don't have a player with a bloated contract they want to get rid of like the Knicks did with Francis.
  9. Because Zach's crazy? Frye's rookie numbers were outstanding as well. Maybe it was a sophomore slump. I think Francis is off the books in a couple of years, too.
  10. Short term, sure. Young's the one who could end up a superstar, though.
  11. Careful, the 76ers still have two picks left in the first round.
  12. You're still disappointed with Thomas? I like the pick and I like Pax's track record even better.
  13. Very happy to see the Clippers take Thornton. Didn't want him on the Pistons.
  14. You're wrong. Is that too harsh a stance to take with the site's founder? I have no idea, but I've seen Conley, Jr. play since the 8th grade and his potential, while high, is not higher than all but two players in the draft. Hollinger's new ranking system agrees with Tim.
  15. Not aware of a hair-length rule. Wallace's hair is pretty long.
  16. I expert Tyrus to take a big step forward this year. He showed flashes of being a force down low in the Pistons series.
  17. I think he can score better than he did at UF. Maybe not initially, but he's a guy that can get 10ppg based on his offensive rebounding ability, his ability to finish, his ability to run the floor on the break better than most big man in the NBA (whereas in college he faced guys just as athletic and young), and simply by playing in a NBA style offense, where spacing tends to be better. Yep. To add to that, he's got great hands, he's an excellent passer, and he's got a great handle for someone his size. Florida would use him to help break full-court pressure.
  18. In this draft? They couldn't move up at all. They'd have to give up a core guy to move up 2, 3 spots. Why do you say that? The middle to end of the 2nd round isn't that great. Some teams may want the 2 picks. Misread your post. Thought you were talking about moving up in the first round.

  20. Yeah, it's Hawes' terrible rebounding rate that gives me pause. A center with plenty of post moves that can't rebound and plays so-so D? We've been down that road before.
  21. Fine by me. I think he might go a bit higher though.
  22. I don't know. I think Chad's underestimating Thomas' potential to become an offensive force.
  23. Count on him being drafted in the first.
  24. He should be gone long before the Bulls pick in the 2nd. I bet he falls in the 17-24 range of the first round.
