  1. What market? No one else had the chance to bid on Neifury.
  2. Who cares. He should have thought about this a year ago. Walker's not the sharpest knife. So the Cobs have no culpability because Walker didn't stick to one year deals or demand a no-trade clause?
  3. I can easily see the Cubs finishing fourth as it is.
  4. It would be good for the team, so it's dollars to donuts that Hendry isn't even considering the move.
  5. You hate Chipper?
  6. Derrek Lee had a phenominal year that he will probably never come close to repeating. Being a firstbaseman might hurt his value, but it's never going to be higher anyway, so it makes sense to try and leverage that year into a very good player at a more difficult position to fill, like CF or SS. Even trading him in for a good corner outfielder might not be such a bad idea, although it seems like Lee should be able to handle a corner himself.
  7. I would definitely consider trading D.Lee. I share Hendry's sentiment that any deal that helps the team should be made.
  8. It is very inconsiderate to keep everyone waiting, Vance.
  9. I think that this is an exceptional idea.
  10. That's possible, but I'm not willing to discount the splits because of that.
  11. Murton / Wilson / Burnitz That outfield is perhaps my greatest fear heading into next season. That or Prior tearing a ligament turning on a faucet or something.
  12. Murton benefited from a high BABIP and some pretty extreme platoon splits with an unusually high % of ABs versus lefties. I would not feel comfortable handing him the job outright unless we upgraded the other outfield positions.
  13. lololol i checked to see if you were right, and i got a bunch of nude shots. all right! I'm hope I'm not the only one that immediately opened a new tab to Google after reading this.
  14. Ha! Very well played, Rocket.
  15. I would go with Pujols, age being one of the biggest factors for me.
  16. Burnitz' option is for 7 million, though.
  17. There's no point in bringing Rusch back unless he's starting, and we don't need that class of starter unless Maddux is gone.
  18. Careful, don't let CubsWin see that.
  19. Hey, don't be dissing the bald guy !! My hairline was receding before I got out of high school. No offense, he just doesn't look like he's 25... I thought he was discovered by a scout when he was still in highschool though.
  20. He probably won't make much less than his current base. Nomar as a supersub is an idea that needs to die.
  21. Yes, because that's certainly the level he'll produce at instead of the .878 OPS he had after coming off the DL. That being said, I'm not really interested in bringing him back in the OF, either.
  22. He can produce well above average for LF.
