  1. What formula did you use to get that number out of curiousity? And will it help in anyway get out of household chores this weekend with my wife?
  2. Did you really guess because Murton is leading off. He put Murton at leadoff because someone heard on the score that Murton is leading off. He said so on page 2. Sometimes I wonder if people actually read the thread before they say something. If it is less than 10 pages, I do, if not, I just jump in and apologize if I repeat something...but thats just me.
  3. Well, he said Dusty would try to kinda mix in the corner guys depending on the LH/RH matchups...which means Murton will probably just keep playing only against lefties. Thanks, didn't quite catch it all, just heard him mention Matt. Not to be the Devil's advocate, but I don't see Murton getting a lot of AB's with Lawton/CPatt/Burnitz around. He is our best 4th OF IMO. Not that he has a whole lot of competition, though. But you are probably right about PT.

  5. Anybody just hear Hendry say that Dusty will mix in Murton more? Wonder if that was an order from the top?
  6. Thats what I am watching...I miss Vance Law's glasses... :D I thought he was such a dork when I was a kid; boy was I an insightful child. Also, how about that lineup? Palmeiro and Grace and Sandberg and MITCH WEBSTER!
  7. But officer, my thought-o-meter is drowned in beer and not working properly
  8. I like it. Compared to what we could've seen, I REALLY like it! Now lets see if it is at all possible to score negative runs, scrubs!
  9. Amen, stay at home dad here too. But, ya know, I would rather watch Barney right now than these "hijacked by Dusty" games.
  10. The good news we have the *cough* strength of today's lineup coming up.
  11. I posted this in the other Remmy thread, but worth re-mentioning. This is absolutely hilarious to me that Cubs.com is pointing out Remmy's mis-use. Remlinger was 0-3 with a 4.91 ERA in 35 games for the Cubs - and had held right-handed batters to a .210 batting average. The left-hander was on the disabled list May 21-June 5 with a non-displaced distal phalanx fracture in the fifth finger on his left hand How bad is that? He might have helped had he been used right.
  12. I like this part: Remlinger was 0-3 with a 4.91 ERA in 35 games for the Cubs - and had held right-handed batters to a .210 batting average. The left-hander was on the disabled list May 21-June 5 with a non-displaced distal phalanx fracture in the fifth finger on his left hand Just rub it in that he may have been effective had he been used right. 13. Like that? I was hoping people didn't think it was a typo. It was on PURPOSE!
  14. Oh how I hope this is a "gift" last start for Macias before she is sent packing... Dreams can come true, they can happen to you...
  15. Haha. No, he was fine to me, but I am not an autograph hound. I spoke to him real quick, but people who wanted autographs got a taste of his rudeness. *shrug*
  16. Which 4 hall of famers? Al Kaline, Orlando Cepeda, Paul Molitor, Kirby Puckett. MOlitor was hungover, Puckett was kinda rude, Kaline was awesome and Cepeda was funny. Really cool
  17. Just got home from Cooperstown, and on the flight out of Albany there were 4 HOFers and Andy MacPhail. Pretty cool. I spoke briefly with MacPhail, recap: -He hopes Lawton is a spark, b/c we "definitely need a shot in the arm." -Lots of players were readily available, but the asking prices were "ridiculous" Did not specify. -Looking to have a solid core of guys healthy for this season and build on it for next. Didn't say who the core was, did say we weren't "mailing this season in" Anyway, that was about it. Kinda general but I figured I would share. It was nice because I was the only guy who recognized him so it probably looked just like two regular guys having a conversation.
  18. I know he was lights out in the minors, and I know he sits around a lot which doesn't help, but I am just not one of the huge Cedeno supporters yet...maybe next year I guess I will get sold on him.
  19. Welcome to the board! My wife and I will get there on Friday, check out the hall on Saturday. It looks like the Quality Inn and Days Inn are about 3 miles apart, according to Mapquest. We plan on eating out Saturday night and, for us, that means drinks too. Love to meet up. Cubbie from TX in AR by the way, all who have posted with me, my real name is Chris Thanks for the welcome! It looks like I'll be staying with a buddy in Albany on Saturday night now instead of at the QI, but he has to go to a wedding that night, so it'd be great to grab dinner/drinks. Let me know how to contact you once I'm up there, and hopefully we can meet up. --Scott Sent you a message, check your inbox! Tried to reply to your message. If you didn't get it, just let me know. Got you Scott, talk to you Saturday!

  22. D'oh!! Belated good idea. Any other "spotting" ideas? You gonna be there too Tom? I'll be there and loving every minute of it,,,a couple of buddies and I got a campsite about 15 minutes away from Cooperstown,,,we're getting there Thursday night and leaving Monday as far as spotting each other,,,there's gotta be something,,, I'll be naked. 6'4", 270, and buck naked. The Space Shuttle Discovery will be able to spot me. I'm a liar as well :D Yea, a bit over the top, but I like you enthusiasm. 6'4" ,270, from AR? I should have no problem finding you in NY.
  23. Riiight, see ya there! :D I am at the Days Inn in Schnectady. Any meet-up ideas? There in Schnectady or at the HOF? With us and Vance there, we could grab a drink or carpool or some such nonsense. I vote that you all shave your heads and paint your entire body Cubbie blue (with NSBB in red). Done and done. That is part of my summer (lack of) style. 8) now all you need is some blue and red body paint, how cool would that be, 4 shirtless bald guys covered in blue body paint each with a letter on his chest spelling NSBB ehhh What the hey? I am all for promoting the site. Maybe T-shirts with the letters though, not so sure about shirtless. Whatever the case, I am looking forward to meeting some NSBB guys.
