I went to the TV booth and asked Brenly. He said he just thinks Z was not in sync in the windup and that the stretch has allowed him to quick-pitch and vary his times to the plate. Sounds logical. Thanks again Bruce. Whatever the reason, it sure saved his pitch count.

    Fixed in other words, ward or floyd bats with none on and two out Floyd should PH for Hill, then Z hits for himself, then Bowen and a reliever get double-switched into the game for the bottom of the inning. No, no, no--That would make too much sense.

    Thanks for the lineups. I saw that Otis, which is why I was confused. I thought he might've dropped the appeal with the team doing well heading into Pitt.

    Yikes, careful what you wish for. I asked for Fontenot to be back at the 2 hole and boy, did I ever get it. Ugly.

    I think Lou wanted him in more RBI situations since he had been slugging well. However, in my opinion he's a better option than Theriot in the 2 hole. Agreed. We haven't had a great 1-2 since '84. Not that they were great, but they could get there, and they were certainly producing. Fontenot seems to be scuffling a bit farther down, maybe its a situation like Sori, just hits better in a certain slot.

    Anyone know, maybe I missed it, but why did Fontenot move from the #2 hole? Tought we had a real good 1-2 punch going there.

    Hill is out of options. Ahh well the my mistake. Didn't realize that.

    Just to try something, I would send K. Hill down and bring up Soto if he is finally healthy. Also either DFA Izzy or send down Theriot and see if Ronny is ready. Minus Eyre, our bullpen is looking very good considering the amount of work lately. I think these two moves could help us, but if not, we are left returning to status quo with no worries as all involved have options left.

    My wife and I regularly go to church, but if it helps we'll srart going evenings too. Also, my wife takes credit for this streak. We were there the 3rd and the Cubs won 10-1; right after the brawl and ejection, so she thinks we jump started them to a good month. I don't know about that, but it makes me love her more that she believes that. Go Cubs!
