Yeah, how dare he expect Marmol to throw 35 pitches in the last week! His arm is going to fall off throwing so many pitches!!! But he has to warm up. That is more pitches. When a pitcher is throwing poorly because of overuse, you don't use him more. Plus, he has been in during huge leads. Just unacceptable. I absolutely love agreeing with you!

If they are going to continue with the silly tradition they should at least stick with guys who are somehow tied to the cubs. or baseball, at the very least.

Well dang, after the last few posts detailing Cook's situation and Spilborghs' injury I guess my mega trade involving Holliday/Fuentes/Cook/Spilborghs for every asset we have not on the 25 man roster is dashed. :(

Interesting theory. It's worth noting that Oakland is virtually even with Wrigley this season in HR Park Factor (1.096 to 1.101). It's actually one of the most pitcher-friendly parks in the league despite the HRs, though. Doubles and triples are hard to come by. From what I remember, the huge foul ground in McAfee Coliseum plays a good sized role in how the park plays.

So, since we're going to the playoffs anyways, we have to keep Harden on a short leash the remainder of the season right? IE Pitch counts, skipping his rotation spot on occasion, etc...

Was on a "Cubs Cruise" on the lake after a cubs-cards game in '01, Kerry was on the deck in the back of the boat signing autographs. I was in line waiting for Kerry to sign a baseball. Then his fiance I believe, Sarah was standing by his side when a bystander from the top deck leaned over and puked all over her. She was not so hot at that moment. How did Kerry react? I wouldn't hold that against Sara. However, if I was Kerry, that guy would need a Medivac helicopter. As a man who has puked off of his share of balconies, you don't always plan to puke off of balconies, and when you do end up puking off of balconies you definitely don't have the wherewithal to check for innocent bystanders.

He's in my top 3 for sure. Even if he'd never done anything else of note after the 20 K game, he made me a fan for life that drizzly May afternoon. Man, that was one of my favorite days ever.

I've been wanting him for years now. If we acquire him the offense would be incredible! I wonder how he is in centerfield. It would be tough to trade for Bradley while Edmonds is performing so well.

Some guy named Dusty might have something to do with it Could he be had for cheap to fill out the rotation? Ok, so I'm high from the Harden deal and not thinking clearly, but still. I think Burnett is much more likely option. Although Hendry doesn't seem interested. We still have plenty left to get him though. I've always thought that Harang would be a stud outside of Cincy. Can you imagine Z/Harden/Demp/Lilly/Harang? Damn! He was a stud inside of Cincy the last couple of years. He would be the third best pitcher in our rotation.

Hendry said earlier in his press conference that the doctors have thoroughly examined Harden. Harden was in Chicago this past weekend. Did Hendry say that? Wow. You would have though that someone would have seen him at the airport
