  1. I don't think we even talk about Pierre's catch if it isn't Bonds going for 714. Also, someone needs to make a clip of sick double plays. I could watch that all day, although it would mostly consist of just Pittsburgh.
  2. The catch Ibanez made last night was pretty sick too. I personally don't think the catch Pierre made on Bonds was that great, what made it good was the magnitude of robbing a milestone homer. There has also probably been a good DP turned by the Pirates. And you can't have a top 10 without showing Jeter go in the hole and make that jump throw [/sarcasm]
  3. There sure are a lot of ugly muggs in this draft
  4. Whoa, whoah, whoa...the whizzing match involved Alou, not those guys
  5. Pat and Ron said it was at his feet :?: That's how big Prince's feet are. You know what they say about guys with big feet
  6. I could see Dee going in the second round. Agreed. I don't think Augustine gets drafted though. I saw a couple people projecting him late in the first round. He's pretty athletic. Don't know if he'd ever be able to make an impact though.
  7. I'm confused...what did the Bulls trade to move up?
  8. edited for truth
  9. I remember reading from some coach/baseball guy saying Farnsworth had the potential to throw 110 if he pitched properly. Does anyone else remember that?
  10. Is it just me or every time they cut to Arena is he either shaking his head or tossing his arm(s) in the air. He sure seems like an idiot to me.
  11. Question for all you soccer fans: Is there diving/horrible calls all the time? I know the bad calls probably don't always happen, but it ticks me off to see players getting rewarded for being a wuss and flailing to the ground when someone breathes on them. I'm trying really, really hard to enjoy this. At times it is very exciting, but the lack of scoring opportunities and all this diving is annoying.
  12. I picked him up in mine - but only because I needed a cheap catcher who'd be getting some sort of ABs. With Barrett suspended, I'm starting to contemplate picking up Hank
  13. Tuned in just in time to watch Pierre get picked off. Where's he going with 2 outs?
  14. Who is currently in High A. And 25 years old. Repeating the level for the third year. But he's very aggressive.
  15. Weaver got sent down today. Really stupid decision IMO. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2488318
  16. I have been waiting for this day, how sad is that.
  17. I have a really solid team, but my pitching stats are taking a beating lately. I had guys like Seo, Thompson, and Madson during their rough stretches which hurt my losses and ERA/WHIP. Now, my RP are getting absolutely shellacked. Jones, Valverde, Cordero, and Ray are all getting hit hard and none of them are "sure thing" closers at this point. What do I do? The rest of my team is in pretty good shape, and I actually am third in saves up to this point. I feel like dropping them all just because everytime I look it seems like they give up 3-4 runs each every inning and get a loss. I hate to have to trade very good hitting for a couple guys who will pitch <50 innings the rest of the year.
  18. I think a lot of times strikeouts get booed because of the way the casual fan looks at it. When they see a strikeout, many times they think, he can't even hit the ball...whereas if a guy hits a nubber to short at least he hit it. Think back to little league and whatnot. The crummy players always struck out. To the common fan I think a lot of times a strikeout means you're a bad player because you don't have the talent to hit the ball regardless of whether you hit it hard, or get a base hit out of the deal. It's harder to hit the ball than to strike out, obviously...therefore a lot of times a strikeout is seen as the worst option, because it requires the least skill.
  19. Ok I moved Soriano and Lopez, and also dropped Wilson and picked up Ibanez as a short-term replacement in the outfield. I've looked around on some trade proposals but no one in my league is very active so I guess it might take awhile. Nice, essentially you traded Jack Wilson for Ibanez...pretty good jump in production IMO. You've got a lot of pitching to deal as well, I'd look to deal a pitcher for another good OF.

    Help

Don't rely on so many Cubs. They always screw me over.
  21. I picked up Ray, and another guy in my league just dropped Reitsma. I'm going to ride out Ray as long as I can. Lots of "bums" have a great year or two.
  22. I try to improve that offense by acquiring an OF, shifting Soriano to 2nd, and Lopez to SS. It's a lot easier to trade for a good OF than good SS. Get rid of Wilson. You can probably make a deal for a better 1B than Broussard as well.
  23. On my way home I heard Dusty on the radio saying something along the lines of: "Neifi is starting at 2nd, hitting 2nd because Pettitte is a veteran and sometimes veterans like to mess with youngsters. Therefore Ronny is hitting 8th." This would make me upset if the Cubs were playing for something. At this point I only watch for entertainment value, and at least there's a little humor when Neifi plays.
  24. Why do you have so many categories?
