  1. I'd take Nixon though. Isn't Nixon a FA at the end of the year. I'd rather trade Maddux for youth.
  2. Heard it too. Shucks. I don't understand why we're holding on to pieces that aren't in the future. Why not try and get whatever you can for Maddux? The only reason I can see for Hendry not trading Maddux is that Hendry plans on trying to bring Maddux back next year, which would probably be the worst idea possible. Then if Maddux does get traded "for whatever you can" half the people will be bitching that's all he got (see: Willliamson trade) I'm not going to defend Hendry/Cubs but almost all of the decisions he's faced with it's going to be near 50/50 on if he pleasese people or he's the biggest moron on the planet. keep him = moron trade him for little value in return = moron
  3. not really necessary since Pujols has been hitting like Neifi against the Cubs
  4. Well that was random. threw out one of the first pitches.
  5. oops I forgot to put [/sarcasm] to my post. Give Rich a real shot and maybe a competent coaching staff and then judge him.
  6. There should be a rule that if Neifi gets to ball 3, he gets to walk anyways.
  7. Cause that's his only good pitch. Have you been watching today? Nope, but I don't need to watch tonight's game to know that Hill has a really good curveball and nothing else. Like I said he had a great first inning and he wasn't using his curve to get it done. Got Pujols out with fastballs
  8. Cause that's his only good pitch. He looked pretty good in the first inning only using it once or twice.
  9. I'm guessing he took a ball off the forearm and broke it like the guys that wear the shin protectors
  10. good thing Wuertz has been in Iowa all year
  11. Doesn't everytime that the Cubs need a new SP with 4 other starters going before the next turn needed they bring up a AAA guy for those 4 days and then send him down for the new starter? Or are we to the point that we just assume the stupid move is going to be made (oh yeah i think that point was 2+ years ago :x).
  12. Has Pawelek had a start where he didn't hit a batter?
  13. geez, the Reds still kills us even if they switch teams.
  14. I may be wrong but I think I recall reading that Veal has a Willis-esque delivery except not such a high leg kick.
  15. I started a Z worship thread awhile back, but I have no idea where to find it.
  16. if the Astros could have mustered 1 more run, all three games in the series would have ended 4-2
