  1. yes, yes, and yes. i think there's a good chance that olsen finishes the year outside of the top 10 TEs. really, i would trade any TE for Rice. what else does he want besides Olsen?
  2. i'm actively trying to trade for him...the guy in our league doesn't like him...he's a dummy. well, yeah, you can look at it from the other perspective. i would wait though. his value is as low as it will be this year. i didn't mention that the piece he wants to work around on my end is greg olsen...still think i should wait? apparently my reading comprehension sucks, because i can't understand what you are trying to say.
  3. Keller isn't available. I think Heath will be fine once Roflberger returns. He may be my second best as of right now, but I really don't see him keeping it up. Maybe I just don't have much faith in him. I offered this trade in this league. Tell me if I'm stupid: Hillis and Harvin for Megatron and Ronnie Brown. The owner is pretty low on Megatron right now.
  4. I am trying to figure out what to do with him. RB wise, I have Gore, Wells, Hillis, Bush, and Donald Brown. 12 team league, starting 1 QB, 3 WRs, 2 RBs, flex, TE, and team defense. Do I try to trade him now when his value is through the roof, or do I see if he can actually keep up decent production? My WRs are Jennings, Harvin, Dez, Mark Clayton, James Jones, and Laurent Robinson (probably time to cut him). I have Brady at QB, and Carlson and Heath are my TEs.

  6. I would hold onto him, especially if you are in a PPR league. He will be a monster.
  7. I will never understand why the Packers didn't let the Bears score. Say what you want about passer rating, but Rodgers has the best passer rating ever according to pro football reference.
  8. Does their current status actually affect NCAA revenue? Deals are in place and contracts are signed years in advance, do you think they'd suffer much without them? the amount of pissed-off drunken hillbillies with rifles roaming the interstate looking for cityfolk would cost tons of money, though. yeah, because that's what would happen. i'm telling you guys. the death penalty is coming.
  9. the Kanter decision is very interesting to me. the ruling will be the first of its kind (whatwith the new rule itself). a lot of people in my neck of the woods have this big conspiracy theory (as a lot of Kentucky fans do with most things) about how the Turkish GM was lying to Pete Thamel about the amount paid and all that. Thamel's story didn't reveal anything the NCAA didn't already know, but it revealed a lot of things that the general public didn't know. personally, (this could very well be the koolaid talking) i think the situation is no different than a student getting monthly expenses at a prep school, or even a full ride at a major university. everything i've read says that Instanbul is an expensive city to live in. with Thamel's story coming out, and all of the backlash from sports journalists since, i don't think Kanter will be declared elligible, though. i do think the ruling will set the precedent for future incoming foreign players in Kanter's situation. i was all giddy when UK hired Calipari, but that feeling is starting to wear off. if a major violation(s) are discovered, i think the NCAA will hit UK with the death penalty, with UK being a repeat offender and all.
  10. yet you keep wasting your own time by telling other people that it is a waste of time.
  11. HATE that rule. it''s always bugged me. his ass was on the ground! that just seems like it should be a catch to me, but oh well. cutler had a tim tebow game. oh hi matt forte at least you won. the bengals sucked it up in NE
  12. Soto is already our best hitter. Soto. Though Fuku is close. If you use wOBA to determine production at the plate (and there's no reason you shouldn't) Geovany Soto has been the 13th best hitter in baseball (min 330 PA). And he hits 8th on one of the worst teams in the league. Soto is underrated by Lou (and now Quade, apparently), but Fukudome is far more underrated by fans. i went to see the Cubs and Reds game last saturday. while waiting in line at a GAB concession, there were two couples in front of me. one couple were reds fans, and the other couple were cubs fans. they seemed to know each other. anyway, the Cubs dude was talking about how Hendry had traded away our best players, noting Lee, Theriot, and Lilly. he couldn't remember the last player that had been traded, so i helped and out and told him it was Fontenot. he went on to say that although Hendry had traded our best players, he liked Castro and Colvin and said that they could build a team around them. i suggested he put Soto in that category as well, and he said that Soto wasn't as good as Colvin or Castro, but that he was getting better. the whole conversation made me want to shoot myself.
  13. did anyone figure out why there is such a discrepancy between BR's WAR for Castro and fangraphs' WAR for Castro?
  14. sorry, i was super tired when i posted that. it doesn't make a whole lot of sense. the first year you keep a player, that player costs you (or is drafted, i guess) two rounds higher than they were drafted the year before. the second year you keep that same player, it automatically costs you a 2nd round pick. the third year you keep that player, it costs you a first round pick. so, Gore will be my first pick, and then i have a few options for the second keeper. if Rice overcomes his hip injury and performs somewhat close to his numbers from last year, he would be an awesome value with an 11th round pick (13th round last year). Maclin is similar - if he improves, he would be a pretty good value pick in the 9th round (11th round last year). I'm not sure that Rice would perform well enough in the second year to warrant me keeping him, especially since Favre will most likely be done for good after this season. I'm leaning towards keeping Beanie Wells. he was drafted in the 6th round last year, so he would be my 4th round pick. i think he''ll be good enough in the second and third years to warrant being kept. If I keep Colston, my first two picks will be Gore and Colston. Since most of the good (if not all) RBs are being kept anyway, I don't know that I would be able to draft a RB#2 in the third round. my preference goes something like this: Wells Maclin tie between Rice and Colston i am very open to persuasion, though.
  15. QB - Palmer RB - Gore RB - Fred Jackson RB - Beanie Wells RB - Tim Hightower RB - Jason Snelling RB - Glen Coffee WR - Marques Colston WR - Sydney Rice WR -Jeremy Maclin WR - Roy Williams (ugh) WR - Kenny Britt TE - Zach Miller TE - Bo Scaife we can keep up to two players. no restrictions on 1st, 2nd, or 3rd rounders. i'm positive that i'm going to keep gore, so he will essentially be my first round pick. i'm having a little bit of trouble with the next one. Rice and Colston are both top 15 WR options. Colston was drafted in the 4th round, Rice was drafted in the 13th round. Rice's hip injury concerns me, however. i think (along with a lot of other people) that beanie wells is going to be the real deal this year, and especially next year. wells was drafted in the 6th round last year, so he would cost me my 4th round pick. i guess you could make a case for maclin, who was drafted in the 11th round.
  16. the clinch of the division in 2008 at wrigley comes to mind.
  17. i would absolutely love to have this man on the cubs. i definitely consider the cubs and reds rivals. that's largely due to being surrounded by reds fans, but i still think they are.
  18. Please don't insult Soto and Castro by grouping them with Colvin.
  19. Can we stop calling him a kid?
  20. why is demarcus cousins going to kill someone?
  21. why would you sit someone who has an OBP north of .500?
  22. Wins. Determines pitcher's success. It's no different then saying what you expect a hitter's HR's to be or something along those lines.Yeah. That's actually a lot different. Yeah wow. he was just giving his projection for Wells. people project wins all the time (however useless they may be). i don't see what the big deal is.
  23. yeah, i was going to post about this. if memory serves, players who are in the midst of a ridiculous hitting extravaganza tend to walk very little. Castro will never be the second coming of Barry Bonds at the plate, but i wouldn't be extremely concerned about his IsoD right now.
  24. this move will undoubtedly solve all of the team's problems.
