If they get Raul Alcantara as the PTBN this could wind up in the same pantheon as Anderson for Bagwell. Ok, maybe not that bad, but you get my drift.

Yup. I just don't see how anyone can be unhappy with this. Shark is a good pitcher, but he isn't great. Hammel is solid, having a very good year, and Oakland may get 3 months of him before he may decide to come back to Chicago. In return you get a potential superstar talent plus three other prospects. What's not to like?

we already have him, and his name is kris bryant. Some of the experts will have Russell ahead of Bryant. Yup - MIF'er who hits and gets on-base a ton. I'm not saying I agree, just saying.

McKinney is a likely trade candidate. I wouldn't let go of Russell for almost anything other than a sure-fire stud pitcher.

I get that Broussard is bad, but I doubt he makes stories up out of whole cloth. I could see him being suckered into publishing something released by Rose's camp. But again, none of that is the point. If Rose hadn't been such an ass in the interview with Yahoo none of this nonsense would be taking place.

Which part is bogus? Its a sourced story from people inside the org, allegedly. Wouldn't Broussard understand who his source is before he writes the damn article? This whole thing is so stupid and its Rose's fault. He never should have said what he did about recruiting. He should have said, "I will do whatever we need around here to make the team better. I'll talk to Pax, Gar and Thibs and they will let me know what is needed, but those convos stay between us. [smile]" There, its [expletive] done. EDIT: "...according to sources with knowledge of the situation." That could easily be Derrick's dumb ass brother again. Either way, its still Derrick's fault. Ok, you go ahead and believe Broussard that Rose had no idea that Melo was going to be there despite the giant signs everywhere and the fact that Joakim and Taj were involved in this. I'm sure Rose had no clue. KC (and others) reported on the day of that Rose and Melo talked in the locker room for about 20 minutes. KC had already reported that Rose was already there for his own workout. That part wasn't news. Why would Broussard's (LOL) report be more credible than this? You're missing the point. All of this b.s. Is of Derrick's making regardless.

To me the only question about my scenario is whether Mirotic can defend the 3. If he can we are golden. If not, you have to keep Snell for defensive purposes and not sign Blair.

Looks bad. That said, I wouldn't bring it down just yet. Miami with only LeBron, a fading Wade and a suffocated Bosh (between Noah and Gibson we can drive him nuts) is beatable if we have scoring. Try this: - Add McDermott, Mirotic and possibly Gasol (MLE) - Bring back Augustin - Sign a veteran forward, like a DeJuan Blair who can come in for 10 minutes a game and use his large ass to hurt people. - Trade Snell and MDG for future picks. - Sign a veteran SG backup with a shot and length (Alan Anderson? Anthony Morrow?) Rose / Augustin Butler / Anderson or Morrow or whomever Mirotic /McDermott Gibson / Gasol / Blair or whomever Noah / Gasol / Blair or whomever

Back in 11' when Miami lost to the Mavs in the Finals, you may recall that Wade and Lebron were on camera mocking Dirk: I felt then as I do now that Wade was sort of the cool kid and James - fresh out of Cleveland - was trying to be like him. But I think James has grown up a lot over the years. He has taken a ton of [expletive] while Wade has somehow avoided mass criticism. James is, was, and will always be the better player, and he has really impressed me with his ability to stay calm and largely humble in public in spite of being the most targeted player in professional sports. My guess is that Lebron is tired of Wade's crap and b.s. image ("family man" who humiliated his wife during their divorce for all the world and their kids to see) now that Wade's skills are clearly on the decline. He probably feels the same about Bosh, who also seems almost immune to the sort of criticism that Lebron receives. I hope Lebron leaves them both (particularly Wade) high and dry and wins a title somewhere else.

ESPN reporting that Boozer will be amnestied. EDIT: The amnesty report was on the "bottom line". ESPN webpage and RealGM reporting that Booz was told he will be traded or amnestied, but they haven't decided which.
