  1. Why would Wolf do that? Kelly is clearly the man in charge there.
  2. Agree with Goony - Ballard/Toub isn't sexy, but neither was hiring John Harbaugh in Baltimore. Get a good staff and it could work fine.
  3. Jesus. is that pic for real? And is Lovie really considering that?
  4. If you're going to trade Marshall, now's the time - he still has some value. Someone like San Fran or Seattle could be interested.
  5. I would not want to work for Woody Johnson
  6. I think it has more do to with Ginny and George McCaskey than Phillips. Phillips is likely hiring whomever he thinks pleases them most, and they crave familiarity as opposed to change and outside the box thinking. Ballard - by virtue of the fact that he was with he org for a dozen years - would thus be the easiest sell and please them.
  7. He's not playing great, but they also didn't do a great job clearing the front of the net on one or two of those goals. I'd say three of those goals were on him. Again, not acceptable in the long-run, but I am willing to give Craw some time to figure it out. The Hawks are built the right way - enough talent to mask the fact that they don't have an elite goalie, a commodity that is rare in the League to begin with.
  8. Strange decision by Kubiak...unless neither of those jobs look good to him.
  9. Lions were absolutely robbed.
  10. Other than the fact that boatloads of people also cheer on Dallas and their ilk with no good reason. Not enough decent humans care enough about that sort of scum and villainy Dallas actually does resemble Mos Eisley.
  11. Lions were owed that break
  12. I don't think its that complex - if you are playing the ball and contact the receiver you are good; if you are face0-guarding the receiver (as opposed to going for the ball) and make contact, its interference.
  13. Yeah, I would have liked to hear the justification If the Lions lose this game they should march on the League office in NYC. They have a defense that is good enough to hang with the Packers and Hawks and the best WR combo in the game (arguably). If they are eliminated from the playoffs due to a completely blown call it would be a real shame.
  14. Its incredible that they picked up that flag. The initial call was correct.
  15. What in the hell is Romo doing out there?
  16. I feel like its very difficult to get a read on Ballard. Some of the stuff I read looks good, other stuff not so much. But "insiders" seem to LOVE him and I don't really understand why.
  17. Very sad. Watched him and Eisen all the time in the mid and late 90's.
  18. Steelers-Ravens is a better and "cleaner" game in the first 3 minutes than anything I saw in Carolina-AZ. You can just see the skill level is much higher and the coaching better.
  19. There's no chance Cam Newton can beat those teams on the road. He's way, way too sloppy with the ball.
  20. That game was simply awful. The Panthers are a terrible team who were fortunate that AZ had to play its 3rd string QB, second and third string RB's, and 2nd string D-Line.
  21. He ran a pretty good team and got the most out of a middling quarterback then all was lost when that qb turned back into a pumpkin. They jumped from 2 wins to 9 wins this season while using Case Keenum for awhile. Kubiak is a terrible coach. So all the other seasons don't matter? Yeah, Kubiak won quite a few games with relatively little on offense. He turned Arian Foster - a nobody out of Tennessee - into a star, won games with Matt Schaub at QB, had a middling O-Line, and pretty much no one to throw to except for Andre Johnson (save one good year from Owen Daniels).
  22. The fact that he is coming from KC is bothersome. They aren't upper echelon in terms of drafting or talent evaluation. I'd rather have Gaine or Pace, on the surface. As for Marrone, I still haven't heard much other than Bills fans (notorious for their meatballiness) don't like him. He served as Sean Peyton's OC from 06-08.
  23. He went 9-7 with an inept offense. How about telling me something more than just some of the fans disliking him?
  24. Huh... He was definitely one of the more interesting names. Yeah, this is intriguing. Still get DeCosta, or whoever, and bring Gamble in as Dir of Player Personnel. Would rather have two GM worthy candidates than one. Bring on the brain trust. DeCosta is so far over everyone that if he interviews for the job, you give it to him on the spot. I wonder if a guy like Gamble would take another position like that, although if DeCosta does eventually go back to Baltimore, Gamble could be a great "next-in-line" type of guy. Yeah, DeCosta over Gamble, but I'd be pleased with either.
  25. This gentleman could be looking for a new gig if he doesn't win this weekend: http://espn.go.com/nfl/playoffs/2014/story/_/id/12103361/marvin-lewis-tired-questions-cincinnati-bengals-postseason-drought Would you have any interest?
