  1. Give them Hinrich please. He is overrated as hell. Tunovers, cant shoot, and cant stay out of foul trouble. Please take him LA He's Pax and Skile's boy.
  2. I thought Reyes swung at everything? He did when he came into the league. His walks have jumped from 27 in 2005 to 53 in 2006 to 77 in 2007. Beat me to it. There's no reason Pie can't develop along the same lines if he works at it. I'd be thrilled if he walked 70 or so times a year.
  3. Most of the above is excellent news, except for the ARod part. I especially love that they are sending Perry to spend time with Felix. That's exactly the right thing to do. If he just improve his plate discipline he'll be Jose Reyes-like, IMO.
  4. Jerry Buss will never agree to trade Kobe to Dallas. Never. I don't want to trade Lou. How do you guys feel about this (which works on the ESPN Trade Machine): Leaves us with: Duhon Kobe Deng Noc/Noah Wallace Thabo Noc/Noah Crittenton Gray Smith Curry Thin bench.
  5. I love what Pax has done with this team over the last several years, but he needs to strike this deal or this team will never make it out of the East. They have almost no one who can consistently get his own shot (except for Deng, who is developing that ability but is not a go-to-guy yet). Even Gordon needs to be set-up. Kobe is perfect for this team on so many levels.
  6. ARod is the best player in baseball, and arguably one of the top 5 of all-time. He can be moved to the OF to maitain his productivity as he gets older. No-brainer.
  7. Who's "Koby"? I guess he could - he hasn't used up his college eligibility. (double )
  8. Paxson isn't telling the truth. I just saw the video - he had a half-smirk on his face, something that he never does. He's full of it; he's just trying to manage the distraction since it seems like everyone on the 15 man roster has been mentioned in one rumor or another. I am getting frustrated with Pax. I appreciate that he is detail-oriented and professional, but I get the feeling he lacks vision in general. He's been acquiring all these nice pieces for years but refuses to part with any of them to improve the team.
  9. +1 Only problem is that he needs to go on Celebrity Fit Club or something and stop being such a fatass if he's to play the OF. He's two years away from making Manny look skinny. If he hits like Manny (who has a career 1.100 OPS) he can eat whatever and however much he likes. He reminds quite a bit of Manny, and I freakin love Manny.
  10. Pie, Marmol, Hill and whoever else they want.
  11. Isn't trading Noc nearly impossible b/c he is a base yr player? Or am I making that up?
  12. I'd rather keep Marshall and use him as trade bait for a RFer...and get ARod. :D
  13. You can kill two birds with one stone by acquiring a stud RFer. If you do that, Theriot's bat is less of a problem, IMO. And I also think we need another starter, and have been saying so for a while. Problem is that we need a hitter more and who knows how much we have to spend?
  14. I could see a team like the A's inking him to a minor league deal. He can back up 1B and RF and DH, and he still gets on base at a decent clip.
  15. I've wanted him to be a Cub every year since they placed him on waivers. I'd give them Pie and Marmol to get him. Yes, really, and here is why: .313 .409 .593 154 (ops+) Those are his CAREER nos. According to baseballreference, this compares favorably with: Ken Griffey (861) Jeff Bagwell (852) Frank Thomas (841) Frank Robinson (837) * Barry Bonds (833) Jim Thome (821) Gary Sheffield (820) Willie Mays (818) * Mickey Mantle (810) * Chipper Jones (810)
  16. Paying the kind of mone he is likely to command would be a very bad idea.
  17. Ahh, sweet logic.
  18. Best part of that whole thing is that Soto is the starter. That could have a really wonderful trickle-down effect on the rest of the team insomuch as it frees up some cash to spend on position(s) (RF? SS?) where we don't have internal solutions.
  19. Perry isn't the problem. We needs more guys who can hit. Blaming the coaching staff made sense under the last administration. Now its time to hold the players and the guy who brought them here responsible.
  20. Agreed on all counts. And peddle Jones and Blanco if at all possible.
  21. I agree with what you are saying, but I also think that they are only one position player away (allbeit a great one) from being where we want them to be. Lou also has to warm up to moving Alfonso down in the lineup. He needs to be hitting 5th.
  22. I love Aramis, but I actually like the idea of trading him for Tejada and signing ARod. That lineup would be bad-ass.
  23. There is absolutely no way to intelligently answer this question at this point.
