  1. =D> Let's teach these youngins' a thing or two!!! I love the 84' jerseys, and have been begging my wife to get me the exact one you posted.
  2. I love Glen too, but he doesn't have much to lose by fessing up. His career is over and - in spite of his titanic HR's - he isn't going to the HOF.
  3. Wasn't the catch made in or close to the nook?
  4. I don't wish to belabor the point, but the Mays catch is not overrated. To make that catch in that ballpark was amazing. If I could have the chance to see one guy who played before my time, it would unquestionably be Mays. The most overrated basbeall play of all time: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kVXLS6mCbTY Fisk in the 75' WS.
  5. 25. Derrek Lee 26. Russell Martin 27. Joe Mauer 28. Brandon Phillips 29. Brian Roberts 30. BJ Upton 31. Derek Jeter 32. Corey Hart 33. Josh Beckett 34. Manny Ramirez 35. Dan Haren 36. Robinson Cano 4th Rnd. 37. Justin Verlander
  6. Dude, where have you been?
  7. I'm sorry.. your "sources" called the Choi Lee trade. I mean everyone and their grandma knew the Cubs were interested in upgrading the slop from 03 at 1B. I mean everyone and their grandma knew the Marlins were cleaning house. I mean even Peter Gammons said it was a possibility days before it went down, but you and your "sources" came up with it. My ass. My god don't play semantic games with me. There "may be some discussion." This is similar to me saying that the Cubs are discussing the potential profit increase by raising ticket prices. Yeah, it may or may not be going on. There may be discussion is even an understatement of what miles said. He said lukewarm, at best. To be lukewarm is to be indifferent. To have solid interest is not to be indifferent. so yeah... miles pretty much said you were wrong. not to mention every other "rumor" you have ever come up with is either A: written on the wall, B: already known, or C: too dumb to be true. So you're 1 for 1000. Outstanding. Keep em coming. And please dont ever analyze a thing about baseball, mmkay pumpkin? besides i trust my sources more than i do yours. then again i dont leak my inside information Are you kidding me? Who cares that one writer's opinion is that the interest was lukewarm. Hoops was still the first person to report that the Cubs had any interest in Crisp. I know part of your gimmick is to rile everyone up, but you are going over the line here. Not that Hoops was correct in personally calling you up and attacking you a few days ago, but you took it too far in your response. he got what he asked for, should have kept his mouth shut. if you're foolish enough to call meph out regarding baseball, i have no sympathy for you. 1) He didn't call him out on statistical analysis, he called him out for questioning sources that he has zero knowledge of; and 2) Jake Peavy
  8. Maybe we need some depth at AAA. This reminds me of Grissom's minor league deal a couple of years back. So long as its a minor league deal I don't care.
  9. If you cannot understand that Hoops qualifies his inside info by labeling it as "chatter" or "rumor", then you need a first grade level reading comprehension class.
  10. If Hendry netted Roberts by trading Murton, Cedeno and Ceda, we ought to be jumping for joy.
  11. I am happy with Hendry on this one. He's sticking to his guns, so to speak. He knows he does not "need" Roberts, and thus will only do it for a price that won't make him (and hopefully us) vomit.
  12. My head is ready to explode trying to keep track of which people overreact that we overrate all of our prospects, and those who go the other way and assume Hendry will trade anyone for Brian Roberts, even though all evidence indicates the contrary.
  13. 1. Alex Rodriguez 2. Albert Pujols 3. Hanley Ramirez 4. Jose Reyes 5. Ryan Braun 6. David Wright 7. Chase Utley 8. Jimmy Rollins 9. Miguel Cabrera 10. Johan Santana 11. Matt Holliday 12. Ryan Howard 13. Grady Sizemore
  14. Hopefully, we'll see him sometime later today. Seriously, he must be going through some major NSBB-withdrawl.
  15. That part is complete b.s. I am all for criticizing Hendry, but at least be intellectually honest when you do it.
  16. Holy cow, can we get some freakin Cubs pics? Its 20 gosh-blessed degrees up here and the Sun has shone-through the clouds like twice in the last two freakin months. WE NEED CUBS ST PICS!!!!
  17. Ah, the marketplace of ideas.... If you want to get into a debate about whether John Mabry is better than Albert Pujols, you're welcome to. You're still going to get laughed at for arguing something that's so obviously wrong. Chill out - I agree with the substance of your post, I just found the visceral door-shutting to be ironic.
  18. Don't hate on Gracie just b/c they stupidly accused Sammy of not hustling. Sammy worked hard and hustled. I am still pissed at him for walking out on the team and lying about it, but that has nothing to do with his hustle, IMO.
  19. I'd rather take Malcolm Kelly. I'd draft Jackson ahead of Kelly. Why? I really don't know that his slight build will handle the rigors of the NFL and as someone else said, he loses some of his value on the Bears since Hester is a better returner. He's more explosive and athletic than anyone in the draft, Kelly is more of as possession WR and Jackson is the HR threat. The Bears need someone who can create in open space. Devin Hester is good after the catch, assuming he can catch the ball. Bradley is good after the catch, assuming he can get on the field. I'd say the Bears need a possession WR. Hester, Bradley, and if you bring him back Berrian are all HR threats. The Bears need somebody to give them what Moose was supposed to. I agree. They need a Welker-type more than anything. Its also important that they develop Olson.
  20. I agree with almost all of the above, though I think you were a bit harsh on Felix. I see him with a .320 OBP on the strength of .280-85 BA.
  21. I trust our Bruce over their Bruce. Their Bruce is the Drama Queen of Baseball Insiders.
  22. Meph, I get your shtick and at times enjoy it, so please take this bit of advice: You need to go out and meet some women. If you are into dudes, that's fine, just go and meet some of them. But please, just get out of your house "tuite d'suite".
  23. Nice low risk, high reward deal for the A's.
