  1. Honestly, I never thought the playoffs were a realistic goal for this team. What is a realistic goal is Caleb and the offense starts to click around mid-season and the Bears are competitive the last quarter of season maybe, even a playoff spoiler for someone on their schedule. I still believe this can very much happen.
  2. I have to think there was a horsefeathers-ton tests and imaging that suggested everything was a go.
  3. Some good will come out of the inevitable TJ Edwards is done for the season announcement, I think Sewell will turn out to be a player. A pick that Poles actually hit on, imagine that, it also took two years but, better late than never.
  4. I know it the remainder of this season hopefully, and I know it's the Bears, "indefinitely" doesn't mean next season as well.
  5. Yes it does, and you can bet whatever happen to Edwards and Gordon are the worst case scenarios as well.
  6. Knew it - https://x.com/AdamSchefter - season ending updates on Gordon and Edwards are in queue. With the Bears it never fails to assume the worst possible outcome.
  7. Haven't won squat, not even been to a SB and may not even make this year. Won't be surprised if meathead in chief costs them in the playoffs again.
  8. Think we'll see the switch to Monangai/Johnson pretty soon also, believe the running game will incrementally improve if the line stays in place.
  9. Yesterday it appeared to me they were consistently rushing 4 and dropping everyone else in "coverage".
  10. I think it best to assume they're (Johnson, Edwards and probably Gordon) effectively done, maybe, they make back the last few weeks. But I wouldn't count on it.
  11. I'd like to see them sell out and bring everyone, because giving the QB an ample amount of time is not effective. By selling out and bringing everyone you'll get burned, you'll also force mistakes from time to time which will almost never happen by just letting the QB sit in the pocket.
  12. I think any defense is going to suffer when 3 of it's best players are out. I know the Bears have a myriad of problems but, saying they lack the depth to replace perhaps, their 3 top players on defense. Is a problem unique to the Bears is total BS, there isn't a team in football that'll overcome such circumstances.
  13. Just a question: Is it possible the offense will improve along with better utilization of the TE's? Or, another question, because it hasn't happened instantaneously, is Loveland is a complete bust? I know we're Bears' fans and have waited long enough but, you have to know nothing good is going to come immediately. In fact I'm certain it's going to be at least 6-7 more weeks, maybe even longer, before we see some consistent good offense.
  14. Well, you know it's the Bears so Loveland forgot to play football. Which I'm certain would have happened to Warren if he were drafted by the Bears. I agree the numbers don't back it up, Warren had one big year compared to 3 years of production by Loveland. Not to mention last year season he had arguably one of the worst QB rooms in Michigan history and was not a focal point of the Michigan offense. And, when Michigan did throw the ball everyone knew he was target, yet, he still put up some good numbers.
  15. If, and, given the Bears injury history, this is a mountainous if, they can keep the OL together I think it'll drastically improve over what we've seen. Even last season, there was a point the OL was starting to come together then everyone got hurt. Look at Vikings last night, lost two OL and McCarthy was pressured and sacked, I think, six times by Falcons team not known for pressuring the QB. Even the Bears would have been able to generate pressure under such circumstances. I know the tendency is condemn everything as hopeless, still, there will be improvements.
  16. In looking, I guess, NFL teams do not or, are not allowed to practice today. Appears first practice is Wednesday maybe, that's for the best, I can't think Ben Johnson has cooled off and still isn't raging. At the very least, come Wednesday, start as early as permitted and I would grind their asses until they get the huddle, break and play off perfectly. No more pre-snap penalties, I would hold Caleb responsible, next one, they'll be grinding again.
  17. At this point I'd take winning a quarter or maybe, even a half of a quarter.
  18. Speculation by me, groin and hamstring injuries, it's the Bears, I think there's a very good chance they're done.
  19. I'm done with Swift and I hope Ben Johnson is as well, time to give Monangai a chance.
  20. Bears actually ran the ball well today, 5 ypc, it was that horsefeathers Swift fumbling the ball that was a kick to the balls. I've no doubt they were on their way to scoring another TD before that dipshit' fumble.
  21. Hey, I'm frustrated to, thus far, it's been a total horsefeathers show. I'm still not ready to write off Loveland, you can, but, I think he's a tad better than you think. And UMFan is correct Loveland was better overall to Warren in college, look at the numbers.
  22. Warren had one big year, a great year, but, Loveland dwarfed Warren in production in all other years. Let's just ignore that because he's started slowly and assume Loveland' a bust.
  23. Yeah, let's just write off Loveland because rookies starting slowly NEVER happens to anyone but Bears' rookies.
  24. Things will probably get worse before they better for the Bears although, I can't imagine what'll be worse than today. Is it Bears, I've confidence they'll find a way to go lower. I still think they'll be improvements on the offensive side of the ball and I'm not ready to write off Loveland and Burden as no talent busts. They were pretty horsefeathers good football players at the highest level. They didn't instantly forget to play football the moment they became Bears.
  25. Ironically, as I said above, I don't think Odeyingbo was that bad today, he got penetration and was held quite a bit.
