The Cubs won't score again facing the journey man gargage like Franklin, Johnson, Hancock - wait, journey man garbage that's basically the Card's staff.
Despite the fact he made two great pitches to Spezio, Miller is missing spots, hanging sliders and consistently falling behind in the count - not good.
The Cubs are beating the Cardinals 6-0 in the 9th. Marquis throws 7 shutout innings against his old team and this sucks? This is the start of a 9 game win streak. I wish. I wonder if Fred can whip up the odds of the Cubs 8 more in a row after this? Gotta be in the thousands to one, I would think. I put the probability of the CUBS winning their next 8 games at 0.000826405024652576 which is approx 1210:1 Or (7/17) to the 8th.
At least it isn't switching to the Yankees game. At least you get to watch the Cubs. I have to watch the Yankees which is why I'm resorting to Gameday to begin with. I'm in the same boat, don't understand why anyone in Michigan would give a rodents' behind about the Red Sox and Yankees.
What inane way are Cubs going to lose today? How about a ball deflecting off Jones’ (top of the 9th, two outs, 0-2 pitch) glove into the basket? Leading to the only run of the game as the Cubs lose 1-0 after getting 15 hits, leaving 25 men on base…
I used to believe all of the talk of curses was nonsense and it still mainly is but, things like Cedeno getting picked off on a walk don't happen to other teams EVER. Not in the whole @!#$% history of organized baseball!!!!!
Well, while embarrassing, they did manage to score 3 runs of a Redman last night but, to lose to garbage like Brandon Looper and Preston Wilson might even be more of an embarrassment.
I'm guessing that when/if(it is the Cubs after all) Soriano returns from the DL, he's going to play LF, Pie in CF, Murton, Jones, Floyd in RF, Theriot at SS and Izturis to the bench.
