  1. To have any chance Carpenter and Wainwright are going to have deep outings everytime out, the rest of the staff is very shakey.
  2. Giants winning today is akin to scoring 5 2 out ninth inning runs after starting the inning down 10-0, to make the final score 10-5 instead of 10-0. Either way you lost and your done just like the Giants for 2009.
  3. I'd love for the Cubs to [expletive] over the Giants by taking two or more games this series, when you think about it, the Cubs can go balls-to-the-wall because their winning or losing doesn't matter in the least.
  4. Ryan Dempster and Ted Lilly wave hello. So do a [expletive] load of other guys. What about Zambrano who's gotten progressively worse? So now the bar is set such that nobody can get any worse? You're right, it's more of me being PO'ed at such of shithole of season, looking up at team with about two good pitchers and bunch of recycled POS pitching out their collective asses.
  5. Ryan Dempster and Ted Lilly wave hello. So do a [expletive] load of other guys. What about Zambrano who's gotten progressively worse?
  6. Under Rothschild I wouldn't count on anything from Thomas Diamond, when one thinks of it, what pitcher has improved with his guidance? But, if Dave Duncan is done with Cardinals I'd like to see the Cubs replace Rothschild with Duncan. Diamond is just the kind of recycled pitcher Duncan' had great success in improving not to metion what he'll do with Zambrano and company.
  7. Its rewarding to one of Hendry' 1st rounders finally make it but, I'm not expecting much from Colvin. He was awful in the minors and I don't believe he'll do much as major leaguer - quite a few K's, no plate discipline, no power nor much of an average.
  8. Alex Briown' pretty PO'ed about how he was hurt: Brown PO'ed Not surprised, Steelers, while good, are the dirtiest MF'ers in football.
  9. I've got a bad feeling Urlacher' season ending injury set a tone for this season, I'm expecting to hear Brown' done for the season as well.
  10. After the FG my first thought was not that inane squib Lovie!!!!!
  11. Love the officials catching the Bears for holding yet, Hillermeyer is mugged - no call.
  12. Yep, Phil Simms was right; it only took him 9 replays to note the spearing though. Well to be fair, that last replay was the only replay they showed where it was noticable. The other views you couldnt tell I'm not going to fair that's the Steelers MO.
  13. There is one thing the Bears have going for them - the Steelers are the dirtest team in football.
  14. Who wouldn't be very confident in their passing game vs. the Bears?
  15. Not going to happen Bears blitz will be ineffective and were looking at a 15+ yard completion.
  16. Why do I feel that the only way the Steelers aren't going to score is if they drop passes or commit a dumb turnover?
  17. That's a real possibility they've got two very good starters and very suspect bullpen, at some point, reality' going to set in on Franklin, Miller, et al it's coming you can almost feel it.
  18. Like Andres Blanco? ...and someone who can hit.
  19. What about moving Z for a major league ready SS prospect, I'm talking about someone with range and a non-noodle arm?
  20. Given Cubs' wins mean nothing, I gladly would have traded a Cubs loss for a Bears win.
  21. Why is that a bad call? I would think people would have been more pissed if he ran up the gut for like the 8th straight play and got stuffed. People would have asked why they didn't try to run outside. If you catch the defense right it can really be an easy score (see USC last night). That said, Forte wasn't running to the outside very well all game, I'll admit that. That's why I thought it was a bad call, seems to me Lovie sticks with something too long.
  22. I'm still PO'ed a the outside Forte run on second and goal from the 3, TD there and the Bears win.
  23. He had a great view while having his head down motioning to Wolfe. But the point is that the 5 yard flag wouldnt have given the Bears a first down and they would have punted anyway. Wouldn't the snap to Maynard draw the same penalty? It'd probably take longer than a snap to Wolfe.
