    Compared to crap we've seen out of Cutler since what, week 5, Cutler was great tonight.

    Neither of those teams will be in the NFC Championship. Sounds good to me, as long as Farve somehow ends up with egg on his face and the Vikings don't win the Super Bowl. Not winning the Super Bowl means he'll end with egg on his face? He played a great game tonight and took control of things in the second half. It's not his fault the o-line has stretches where they don't know how to block and the defense suddenly is horrible. Or that the defensive coordinator (who supposedly would be a top target of the Bears if Lovie is fired) insists on blitzes that never get there and leaving an 80% CB one-on-one in overtime. Or has a running back who fumbled the game away. I wouldn't be surprised to see him throw one of his trying to force the ball in there picks which costs the Vikings a playoff win.

    To be the best you have to beat the best. While it is a cliche' it is also true. Even tho the series went five last yr, the Hawks show the can play with the Wings and even beat them. First round or Conference Finals it doesn't matter when the Hawks face them, they'll likely have to face them at some point. I look forward to a playoff series with the Wings. I've got no problem with the Hawks facing the Wings, the Hawks have significantly improved over last season. I don't believe the same can be said of the Wings.

    This team is very much anti-Chicago like, in that's, it's a truly good team. Nashville playing a little over their heads, gaining some confidence and the Hawks just crush any illusions they may have had about be able to hang with them. Cubs, Bears, Bulls and White Sox in a similar situation would have gotten the crap kicked out of them.

    I know the o-line has been terrible but, despite playing behind below average line last year Forte still managed to do well. Fumbling, running like he's afraid of being hit, he regressed terribly is there a lingering injury or what?

    So if the Cards sign Holliday we'll just concede the NL Central to them in 2010 completely ignoring the fact that Pinerio, Franklin, Thompson, Lohse, all average to poor pitchers at best, pitched out their collective asses?

    In all honesty, I knew the Cubs were going to get taken to the cleaners. I sorta figured they could get something better than Carlos Silva in return, but leave it to Jim Hendry to take it to a whole new level of bad. There is one thing that could happen out of this that would make me actually like this trade a little bit, and that would be if Hendry lost his job because of it. Unfortunately, I don't see that happening. It seems like too many people out there support the trading of productive pieces for non productive pieces for the sake of a happier clubhouse. The whole happier clubhouse factor is a load of garbage, good teams win, period, look at the A's of the earlier 70's. Reggie Jackson et al fought in the clubhouse yet, they managed to win three consecutive WS.

    Did anyone think this was going to end well for the Cubs? I didn't, they backed themselves into a corner, there's no way a team was going to give up even a decent player in trade for Bradley. I still believe they would have been better served by keeping Bradley - a 1-2 of Fukedome and Bradley may have worked out pretty well.

    The acquisition Carlos Silva is inconsequential, if I heard it correctly, the Mariners took on Bradley' contract and gave the Cubs 9 million, that's the key.
